While in Tennissee, I

Hiked
Slept outside.
Cleared trails.
Sat on sun-warmed rocks.
Went white water rafting.
Swam under waterfalls.
Played frisbee.
Turned rocks into steps.
Shared lunch with a rattlesnake.
Ate s'mores.
Confirmed my joy with solitude.
Struggled with the rules.
Made peace with Channing.
Spied an owl.
Built up strength.
Star-gazed.
Threw gravel at easy targets.
Lost faith.
Dug water bars.
Crawled through a cave.
Identified Six-Spotted Tiger-Beetles.
Assisted with a rescue.
Scratched bug bites.
Hauled cement mix.
Listened to stories. Questioned my inner voice.
Learned what a Jenny was.
Clung to a four-wheeler.
Connected.
And my, how I laughed.

'We do not live an equal life, but one of contrasts & patchwork; now a litle joy, then a sorrow, now a sin, then a generous or brave action.' -Ralph Waldo Emerson
