Niagara Falls
July 2002

American Falls
These are the American Falls, through which pour 10% of the water. In the background is the mist from the Canadian Falls, though which pour 90% of the water. The international border goes through the middle of the Canadian Falls. Goat Island, in the middle of this picture, separates the two falls. The park on the American side was the first state park in the United States.

Towards the base of the American Falls
We took an elevator towards the base of the falls, took a path closer--and got all wet. None of the closeup pictures were any good. Either the scene was too big or the lens was all wet.

Suiting up on the Maid of the Mist
We took a boat ride past the American Falls and to the base of the Canadian Falls. Everyone got a free raincoat.

Approaching the Canadian Falls

This is just a fraction of the Canadian Falls. It's all I could get in the camera. Again, closeup pictures weren't possible, and we got drenched--despite the free raincoats!

Taking a Break

Another Break

Lisa couldn't walk
Lisa stepped on a light bulb of all things two nights before and couldn't walk with all the stitches in her foot. It's a good thing she has a strong and healthy aunt!

The Le's

The Bogart's

Back Home: The kids went swimming...

...And a balloon flew over our neighborhood
