Butterflies have to be among the most beautiful of creatures created by God.
I think He was probably feeling especially happy the day He made them.
He must have had a light airy feeling, very gentile and breezy. At least that's how they make me feel whenever I see them.
It's very calming to watch them as they flutter from flower to flower and bush to bush. Sometimes they just float on the wind like music in motion.
It's hard to believe that such a lovely creature could possibly come from something so unattractive as a worm. Yet they do.
God in all His wisdom made them that way.
I truly believe He made them for no other reason than to be a pleasant sight to see. Yet they also provide us with such a great object lesson.
Consider the unsaved soul. It's an ugly sight to behold and brings no joy or pleasure to anyone. But when that soul is transformed by salvation it becomes very beautiful. It's hard to believe that something so beautiful and wonderful
could have come from something so ugly. Yet it does.

A butterfly doesn't have a choice, it must turn from a worm into a butterfly because that's the way God made it. But we do have a choice because God gave us the freedom to choose what we will do.
We can remain in our sin (ugly worms), or we can accept the salvation that God has so freely given to each of us and become lovely butterflies.
