Car Trouble?

Here’s how to handle dangerous on-the-road situation.

If you break down:

  • Stay visible. Pull over to the side of the road, put your hood up, turn your hazards on, and set up light sticks (see car kit above) 100 feet from your trunk. Bright signals keep other drivers from hitting you, even during the day.
  • Get help. Call your parents or police and wait in your locked car for help. Do not accept help from a stranger. If your car stops in the middle of the road, put your lights on, leave the car, and walk to the side of the road-you’ll be safer

If you’re being followed:

  • Double-check. Take three right turns. If the person does the same thing, He just went in a circle—and that’s too weird to be a coincidence
  • Go to a crowded place. Pull up to the front of a mall or into a gas station—he may be scared off by all the people around—and lock your doors. If he doesn’t leace or he approaches your car, call the police, describe his vehicle, and stay put.

TIPS:
Don’t drive home, this creep shouldn’t find out where you live
