Do You know these facts about
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD's)?

Teens and STDs: What Do the Numbers Mean?

FACT:   Almost 4 million (that’s 4,000,000) teens in the United States get a sexually transmitted disease (STD) each year. That’s like everyone in the city of Atlanta or Detroit getting an STD in one year.
FACT:   One in every four people will get an STD by the time they are 25 years old. If you think about four of your friends, this means that one of them is likely to have an STD by their 25th birthday.
FACT:   One in every 10 teen-aged women tested for chlamydia has an infection.
FACT:   Eight in every ten women infected with chlamydia do NOT know they have it because they do not have any signs or symptoms.
FACT:   Four out of every ten men infected with chlamydia do NOT know they have it because they do not have any signs or symptoms.
FACT:   Chlamydia, once you know you have it, is easily treatable and curable. The only way to know for sure is to get tested.
