1.    3 friends went to a cinema to watch a movie. Each ticket was $10 so they paid $30. The manager said that the tickets only cost $25 as there was a $5 discount. From the $5 discount, each friend got back $1 which means $2 is left. Now each of the friends had only paid $9. Which means $9 x 3 = $27, and plus the $2 extra = $29 only. What happened to the $1?

ANSWER: Instead of adding $2 to the $27, you must subtract $2 from the $27 leaving $25, which is the amount paid.

2.    A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor to go to work or to go shopping. When he returns he takes the elevator to the seventh floor and walks up the stairs to reach his apartment on the tenth floor. He hates walking so why does he do it?

ANSWER: The man is (of course) a dwarf

3.    A man walks into a bar and asks the barman for a glass of water. The barman pulls out a gun and points it at the man. The man says 'Thank you' and walks out.

ANSWER:  The man had hiccups. The barman recognized this from his speech and drew the gun in order to give him a shock. It worked and cured the hiccups - so the man no longer needed the water.


4.    A man is lying dead in a field. Next to him there is an unopened package. As he approached the centre of the field he knew he was going to die. How did he die?

ANSWER:  The man had jumped from a plane but his parachute had failed to open. It is the unopened package


5.    A woman had two sons who were born on the same hour of the same day of the same year. But they were not twins. How could this be so?

ANSWER: They were two of a set of triplets


6.    A man pushed his car. He stopped when he reached a hotel at which point he knew he was bankrupt. Why?

ANSWER:  He was playing Monopoly.


7.    Deep in the forest was found the body of a man who was wearing only swimming trunks, snorkel and facemask. The nearest lake is 8 miles away and the sea is 100 miles away. How did he died?

ANSWER: During a forest fire, a fire-fighting plane had scooped up some water from the lake to drop on the fire. The plane had accidentally picked up the unfortunate swimmer.


8.    An Arab sheikh told his two sons to race their camels to a distant city to see who will inherit his fortune. The one whose camel is slower will win. The brothers, after wandering aimlessly for days, asked a wise man for advise. After hearing the advice they jumped on the camels and raced as fast as they can to the city. What did the wise man say?
