Each ticket was $10 so they paid $30. The manager said that the tickets only cost $25 as there was a $5 discount. From the $5 discount, each friend got back $1 which means $2 is left. Now each of the friends had only paid $9. Which means $9 x 3 = $27, and plus the $2 extra = $29 only. What happened to the $1? ANSWER: Instead of adding $2 to the $27, you must subtract $2 from the $27 leaving $25, which is the amount paid. 2. A man
lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the
ground floor to go to work or to go shopping. When he returns he takes the elevator to the
seventh floor and walks up the stairs to reach his apartment on the tenth floor. He hates
walking so why does he do it?
3. A man walks into a bar and asks the barman for a glass of water. The barman pulls out a gun and points it at the man. The man says 'Thank you' and walks out. ANSWER: The man had
hiccups. The barman recognized this from his speech and drew the gun in order to give him
a shock. It worked and cured the hiccups - so the man no longer needed the water. ANSWER: The man had
jumped from a plane but his parachute had failed to open. It is the unopened package ANSWER: They were two of a
set of triplets ANSWER: He was
playing Monopoly. ANSWER: During a forest
fire, a fire-fighting plane had scooped up some water from the lake to drop on the fire.
The plane had accidentally picked up the unfortunate swimmer. ANSWER: The wiseman tells
them to switch camels. |
