"Gerrard, I have lost the Copernicus. I am desperate for a fusion engined ship. I cannot afford anymore setbacks." - Charles Brelan.

In his office in Space City, Brelan tells Commissioner de Grecy that the Ilea is the only decent resource left in Jupiter System. He reveals that it has already come back in three different forms, and it's time for a rebirth. The Commissioner wonders if this will be as twins.

In the Dome, James is giving a lecture to a group of students when Harriet arrives. She is disappointed at the turn out.

Brelan thinks that they can use the Ilea's upper stage, the Naiad, to service the exploration groups, whilst he can use the lower stage, the Elizabeth Bonadventure, to take sky mining units into Jupiter's upper atmosphere. The Commissioner tells him that whilst he can see that the plans have merit, he cannot support his suggestion. They cross to the Commissioner's office, where Chantal is waiting. She asks Brelan if it is the Ilea's body that he wants, or her mind. Brelan is amazed that the Commissioner is intent on keeping the Ilea intact, and warns him that he has taken his recommendations to the Space Commission. As he leaves, Chantal asks him for light tubes, for James' research in the Dome. Brelan suggests that James transfer his work to Daedalus Headquarters which is much better equipped.

Harriet calls up Daniel's attendance record, and contacts him via autosec. He tells her that he has just loaded a study programme, but will speak to her later. He is actually lazing on his bunk in his cabin.

A tired Jean-Francois boards the Ilea with Chantal.

Chantal tells James that Brelan refused to issue the light tubes, and of his suggestion that he relocates his experiments to Valhalla. James is angry at her interference. Chantal tells James that he may as well go, as he is going on Daedalus anyway. James tells her that he is going to speak to Brelan, to ask him what he intends to do with Petra.

Jean-Francois begs Daniel to let him sleep in his cabin for a couple of hours. Harriet contacts Daniel again, and suggests that she join him in the study lab. Daniel agrees, and prepares to leave. He opens the Door to reveal Harriet, waiting for him in the corridor outside his cabin.

The Commissioner tells Eliot that the verdict has arrived. He asks if Eliot knows where Finbow is as no one can trace him. As they share a drink, the room is violently shaken. The Commissioner tries to find out what has happened, and discovers that a section of the new dome has collapsed. He tells Eliot that he will meet with him again the next day and tells him he is in the clear, before rushing off to the site of the latest disaster.

Melody tells Sara that they will close down the college. Anna comes over to tell them about the accident on Space City. A worried Melody asks if anyone was hurt, thinking that Jean-Francois may have joined the construction gang to get away from Lili. Harriet addresses the students, and tells them that the future of the college is uncertain, and attendances at lectures must improve. A panicked Melody rushes out.

Melody desperately tries to contact Space City, but all comms have been suspended due to the new emergency. She is unaware the Jean-Francois is asleep in Daniel's cabin.

Melody continues to fret in her cabin. Daniel calls in, asking if it would be worth a date if he could find Jean-Francios for her. Melody storms out.

The Commissioner tells Brelan that they urgently need Daedalus equipment to keep Space City running. Brelan refuses to help, unless he can have the Elizabeth Bonadventure.

Melody goes to Daniel's Cabin with Sara. She is delighted to see Jean-Francois.

Eliot returns to the Ilea with James. As they board he is called to Comcen.

In the club, James tells Chantal that Brelan has no designs on Petra, but she thinks Brelan is lying. She asks James if he will go to Valhalla, but he tells her that he will not let down the college. Eliot interrupts them to say that the inquiry found that the First Officer assumed command due to the temporary incapacity of the Captain, and that he is now back in charge. He tells them, though, that he no longer has a ship to command. Brelan has won, and the Ilea is to be chopped up for spares.
