Mercedes, Sara and Herlinde discuss the engagement card when Finbow enters. Mercedes suggests to Herlinde that she tells him to get lost. Finbow joins them and asks if they have seen Rosie. In the common room, Sara presents Jean-Francois and Melody with their card. They are congratulated by students and staff. Outside the storm still rages.

As the engagement celebration ends, Jean-Francois goes to get a hot drink for Melody. Piers makes to leave, but Melody flirts with him. Piers offers his congratulations and leaves.
Chantal holds a midnight conference on the bridge to discuss her findings. Eliot asks for evidence of their being swept out of orbit. Rosie says that the students are getting edgy and know that something is going on. Eliot finally agrees to move the ship in order to prove them wrong.
Herlinde asks Piers for sleeping pills due to her sharing with Anna Begani. Piers suggests she transfer rooms, but Herlinde tells him that Anna just swaps after her. Finbow enters and tells Piers that he is wanted on the bridge. Herlinde tries to let Finbow down gently, but he misunderstands and rushes off.
Hartman grabs Mercedes and is annoyed to discover that she knows about his criminal record.
As everyone straps in to acceleration stations, Petra counts down to launch. Sara calls Herlinde and tells her that Victoria has gone missing. Petra prepares for full burn, but at three seconds to launch there is a malfunction. Eliot hits the emergency button...
