DR.'s BRADY and HUNTER are reviewing a computer report
removed from the CRAY SUPER COMPUTER. They appear upset
at what they find. DR. LIAM BRADY is the Chief Scientist,
a nice looking man in his thirties. DR. JENNIFER HUNTER
is a beautiful lady in her twenties and is Brady's Protégé.
BRADY
(studying the report)
Look Jenny, just as we both
suspected. Damn, who do we tell?
(hands the report to Hunter
Looks like it's starting to enter
the asteroid belt.
HUNTER
When your father first discovered
the Phantom Planet it was only a piece
of a mathematical equation run over
and over again on the old IBM 7090
Computers. Now with the Cray, we can
prove it to the world that it does
exist.
BRADY
We need to notify the Director so
we can obtain Federal support.
HUNTER
I think we need to find Noah.
BRADY
I don't think we have enough
time to build an Ark that
will hold several billion
people.
HUNTER
How much time do we have?
BRADY
(laughing)
I wouldn't hazard a guess. How do you
predict the effect a planet the size
of earth is going to have on us when
it passes as close as the moon?
HUNTER
What are we looking at, floods,
earthquakes, hurricanes and volcanoes?
BRADY
(serious)
The last time this happened the
earth was completely covered with
water. So I expect as much this
time.
HUNTER
How close will the planet come to
Earth?
BRADY
About five hundred thousand miles.
HUNTER
How long will we feel the effect
of the gravitational pull?
BRADY
I don't know? The Planet has the
most effect on our oceans.
HUNTER
Now I know why all the ancient
calendars ended in the year
2,000 AD.
BRADY
The floods are starting now and
the intensity of all the current
earthquake activity will increase.
I would have to say by late 1999
the earth will be flooded!

INT. F.B.I. SPECIAL UNIT - OFFICE
Agent's BRIAN SCOTT and BARBIE BASSO are reviewing a report
from the Agent in Charge of the San Francisco California
office. Scott is holding an eight by ten glossy of a star
system with a circle around a small dot. Brian Scott is
a very nice looking man in his late thirties. Barbie Basso
looks like a model and is in her late twenties.
BRIAN SCOTT PHD.
An esteem Egyptoligist of the highest order has been with the FBI
for over ten years and is called in on special cases where this
background is necessary. He is also a specialist in Applied
Criminal Psychology and has published papers on this subject.
He has two years in pre-med and is qualified for Clinical forensic
Specialties.
BARBIE BASSO MD.
A Doctor of Forensic Medicine and is rated one of the best in this
field. She has been with the FBI for over six years and is called in
on special cases where this background is required. A specialist
in Applied Criminal Psychology and Criminal Behavior. She
has been Scott's partner for the last three years.
SCOTT
(studying the picture)
According to the report this is suppose to
be Planet MARDUK.
(hands the picture to Basso)
Looks like a vanilla type star to me.
BASSO
Marduk is what the SUMERIANS called their
holy planet. In all their writings they refer
to an orbit taking thirty-six hundred years.
SCOTT
Are you familiar with the LAWRENCE
LIVERMORE LABORATORY, in California?
BASSO
Yes of course, it's one of those think tanks
where research is done on special government
projects.
SCOTT
We're flying out to California tomorrow. Two
Scientists at Lawrence are requesting F.B.I.
support on a very secret project.
BASSO
(curious)
Shouldn't they be calling the National Security
Agency?
SCOTT
Director Smith said we have the duty. If you
want to ask him why, be my guest.
BASSO
How much should I pack?
SCOTT
Enough for a week. How much do you know
about the Sumerians?
BASSO
The Sumerian civilization Started about five
hundred thousand years ago. It was very
advanced and the leaders were known as
gods. The legend goes that every time the
mysterious planet Marduk appeared,
the earth was rejuvenated. Of course after
a complete physical change had taken place
on earth.
SCOTT
Do you cater to that mythology?
BASSO
I think it's just a fairy tale to keep
the troops in line.
SCOTT
Is there any proof that Marduk
has caused damage to earth when
it comes within five hundred
thousand miles.
BASSO
They elude to "The Great Deluge"
as being caused by the proximity
of the two. If Noah hadn't built
his Ark, we may have had a problem.

pictures with Scott and Basso.

(studying the picture)
Look Agent Scott, this is the
location of Marduk ten, twenty
and thirty years ago.
(hands the picture to Scott)
Looks like Marduk will be affecting
the earth's position within the next
year.
HUNTER
When his father first discovered Marduk,
in the early seventies, it was only a
calculation based on the find of a
celestial body causing HALEY'S PLANET
to wobble and slightly change it's
course. But as you can see now, this
Planet is hell bent to rendezvous with
the planet earth.
BRADY
We need to notify the State Department
so they can start trying to figure out
how they're going to tell the American
people and the people of the world.
HUNTER
Dr. Brady and I have gone over the
computer runs over and over again
and it tells the same story. Marduk
will cause the Earth big problems!
BRADY
I was hoping we would get more help from the
HUBBELL TELESCOPE support group but,
they've been very quite about this project.
SCOTT
How much time do we have?
BRADY
I really don't know, six months,
nine months, I've no idea what
the gravitational pull of Marduk
will do to us.
BASSO
Are we talking ....end of the
world?
HUNTER
We really don't know, we're just
throwing up the caution flag.
BRADY
We need to tell our people .....
of the impending danger so they
can start making preparations.
BASSO
Preparations for what? We are
all in the same boat that's
going to sink!
SCOTT
What we need is for you and
HUNTER to establish the best
and worst case scenarios so we
can take this back to the State
Department and get them going
on a plan!
BRADY
How soon do you need it?
BASSO
Yesterday!
HUNTER
We'll have to work all night!
(A beat). You can pick it up
tomorrow morning!

INT. HOLIDAY INN DINNING ROOM
Scott and Basso are having dinner and he's just poured
another glass of wine for her.
SCOTT
(placing the wine bottle
back in the carrier)
Tell me more about the Sumerians.
BASSO
(smiling)
I finally have your interest, hey!
SCOTT
Yes you do, now give me the summarized
version.
BASSO
According to all the scriptures that
have been translated by our scholars,
places them here, the first time
about four-hundred thousand years ago.
SCOTT
That was about the time of the last
major Ice Age, right?
BASSO
Actually it was at the end of an Ice
Age over four-hundred thousand years
ago.
SCOTT
Where did they come from?
BASSO
They came from their planet ....
Marduk.
SCOTT
Were they Humanoids?
BASSO
The scriptures say they were just
like you an I.
SCOTT
How many landed that first time?
BASSO
I don't know? Why is it important?
SCOTT
No, just curious. Go ahead.
BASSO
Well anyway, they had their special
gods for just about everything. They
finally migrated to what they called
the "Lower World", or what is now the
tip of Africa.
SCOTT
What were they looking for?
BASSO
The Sumerians that were classified
as "Gods" were actually referred to
as the "Nefilim's". Anyway, they
were looking for slaves and precious
metals and stones. They decided that
it was necessary to create a man that
was a beast of burden, slave, serf or
whatever you want to call them. So
they tried cross breeding with the
local indigenous species, "Cro-Magnon's".
SCOTT
Cave men?
BASSO
Yes, but they were not happy in
what the offspring turned into. So
they took some of the Hybrids and
made them work in the deep Gold Mines
of South Africa, so they would be out
of sight.
SCOTT
So what did they do?
BASSO
They abandoned the Hybrids
packed there bags and moved
back to the Middle East.
Scott's Cellular Phone starts to ring and he removes
it from his jacket pocket.
SCOTT
Hello, this is Agent Scott.
(A BEAT). Yes, I understand,
we'll be there in fifteen
minutes.
BASSO
Director Smith?
SCOTT
No, it was Dr. Brady. He was just
called by one of his associates
stationed at the Goldstone Radio
Telescope Complex in Owens Valley
California. They've received a
transmission from a celestial body
in the approximate location of
Marduk.
BASSO
How many transmissions.
SCOTT
Many, Brady want's us to fly out
to Goldstone with him and Dr.
Hunter first thing in the
morning.
BASSO
What language is the transmission
in?
SCOTT
He said it sounds like "Akkadian".
One of the Sumerian Dialects.

Scott and Basso are sitting with DR's Brady and Hunter
listening to a radio broadcast coming in from outer space.
Dr. Brady turns up the volume.
TRANSMISSION (V.O.)
(Monotone voice)

Brady turns down the volume so the voice speaking in an
ancient language is barely heard.
BRADY
My associate had The National
Security Agency run this through
their language computer system
and this is the translation.
(Brady turns on a tape
recorder)
Remember this is a very rough
translation, and may have to
be cleaned up later.
COMPUTER VOICE
"Remember thy words in Antiquity....
The waters saw thee, O Lord, and
shuddered...... Thine splitting
sparks went forth. The sound of
thine thunder was rolling;
Lightning's lit up the world;
The Earth was agitated and it
quaked. (Then) in the waters
was thy course, Thine Paths
in the deep waters;
The southern frozen world
may be breaking up;
Ready thine Ark ........
The seventh passing of the
holy planet is upon you!..."

INT. GOLDSTONE EXECUTIVE CONFERENCE ROOM
Scott and Basso are sitting with Dr's Brady and Hunter
listening to the translated tape received from the NSA.
Dr. Brady turns down the volume.
BRADY
(somber)
Well folks there it is what do we
do now.
SCOTT
The part of the tape where it
mentions the southern frozen
world, what does it mean?
BASSO
According to the Sumerian scriptures
the southern frozen world meant
Antarctica. You see, when Marduk
came by the earth the gravitational
effect caused the ice sheets in
Antarctica to start breaking up and
dumping into the Indian Ocean,
causing all the ocean's to rise some
sixty feet, all over the world.
This effect caused enormous thunder
storms hurricanes, typhoons thus the
deluge!
SCOTT
Is it possible this message is a hoax?
HUNTER
Of course, anything's possible but the
NSA said it has all the ear marks of
being authentic.

Dr. Ivan Leshkanskya is holding the microphone and talking
to his support people in Patagonia. He's in his middle
fifties bearded and having a very heavy Slavic accent.

(Desperate)
I need support here, the Ice..
is starting to break up. That
never happens until the spring.
We did some core samples and it's
breaking up at a depth where it
never breaks up. The depth of the
ice base is over 1000 feet, and
it's now breaking up at five
hundred feet. We need to be ...
rescued, or we'll be in the ocean
in twenty four hours. Over.
SUPPORT STAFF (V.O.)
Ice station Seth ...you have a very
bad storm front moving in on you in
less than fifteen hours, we have
nothing here that can rescue you
for several days. Dr. Morrow said
to pack and move inland as soon as
possible, find the highest point
and stay there till we can get to you.

Ok, we'll do the best we can, over
and out.

Scott and Basso are sitting with Dr's Brady and Hunter

BRADY
They're in trouble, what do we do?

Scott and Basso are sitting with DR's Brady and HUNTER
listening to the distress call coming in from Anartica.
BRADY
(somber)
Well folks, my colleagues tell
me this Planet will be coming
within a million miles of earth.
SCOTT
Does this present the same level of
Danger a large celestial body like a
Planet will pose on earth.
BRADY
According to the data we received when
we had the last large Planet do a close
pass on earth the danger level has
increased by a level of at least
five magnitudes.
BASSO
Is it possible this planet passing
Will just cause minor damage?
HUNTER
Agent Basso this is a first for all
of us and we are at odds with each
other as to what the worst case
scenario will be.

Scott and Basso are sitting with DR's Brady and HUNTER
listening to the last signal received from the NSA via
Ice Station Seth support group..
BRADY
There is nothing we can do.
SCOTT
Dr. Brady tell me more about this
planet, what do you call it?
BRADY
They're calling it "Planet X".
SCOTT
I think Planet "X" sounds better
than Marduke.
BRADY
Planets have orbits, from where ever
They come from to their journey
around the sun. Many have expected
arrivals and departures, documented
well ahead of their returns. Some,
however are not so easy to predict.
Planet X has many peculiar aspects.
One has been the orbit and trajectory.
Ephemeris' are numerical estimates
of heavenly position, based upon a
number of observations.
SCOTT
Are you trying to say it acts more
like a space ship than a Planet?
BRADY
The organization that has probably
Calculated the most Ephemeris' for
Planet X is JPL, they have calculated
26 Ephemeris'! The obvious question
is why so many?
BASSO
Is it possible this planet is being
navigated by someone or something.
BRADY
Can't they repeat the process that
has been done so many times before,
and come up with one, or maybe only
two Ephemeris, for the entire journey
of Planet X? But to have 26, what's
going on?
SCOTT
You sound concerned.
BRADY
Yes I am. The orbits and ephemerides
Include the rocket-like effects usually
associated with active Planets.
BASSO
You didn't answer my question Dr. Brady,
do you think the planet is under
someone's control?
HUNTER
Agent Basso this is a first for all of
us and we must be very careful what we
say. If we say the wrong thing we have
lost our credibility for the remainder
of our career. This is what we do, our
credibility is everything.
BRADY
Normally, these effects cannot be
Determined accurately with fewer than
three apparitions so they are rarely
used for one apparition long-period
planet. While the formal errors of
these non-gravitational parameters are
quite small, realistic errors are
probably several times larger.
HUNTER
Given the short observation interval
and the relatively large radial non-
gravitational acceleration noted, one
cannot escape the conclusion that
Planet X is the size of earth, a
conclusion consistent with the recent
radar results reported by JPL.
BASSO
You guys are starting to scare me. Do
you know the size of the orbit?
BRADY
The alternative of invoking the effects
of non-gravitational forces on the Planet
seems very unlikely at the Planet's
great heliocentric distance. As noted on
IAUC 6287, the Planet's last perihelion
passage occurred some 3600 years ago,
while its return after 1997 will be 3500
years .
HUNTER
If the influence of non-gravitational
forces as the Planet approaches
perihelion in 1997 remains negligible,
the currently available Ephemeris
should have a maximum error no larger
than 2 arc minutes. One significant
change came in the months from the end
of February to the beginning of April.
This was the period of time that Planet
X was passing Jupiter.
BRADY
Pictures prior to the passing, where
the Planet was spinning on its axis
more or less toward us. The retrograde
action of the image appears to
evidence that the Planet was spinning
clockwise with its northern pole facing
us. Following the passing of Jupiter,
the Planet passed a mere three million
miles the other side of Jupiter
BASSO
Have you found any occultation?
BRADY
Yes, the report I read this morning
said the Occultation Of Star PPM200723
On The Night Of October Fourth And Fifth,
the Lowell Observatory posted the
possible occultation of a mag 9 star by
Planet X in October 1996 along a path
from SW-NE somewhere across the western
US. This event is of interest for
permitting a direct determination of
the size of Planet X. Therefore the
occultation has provided a good
estimate of the size of Planet X.
SCOTT
What about earthquakes as the Planet
nears?
BRADY
Fault-free earthquakes are not confined
to fault lines, but occur in many diverse
locations. This assertion is based on the
assumption that Type II EQs are electro
magnetic in nature.
The phone rings and Dr. Brady picks it up listens and mumbles
something to HUNTER as he turns on the office TV. Scott and
Basso glance at each other.
BRADY
I was just informed there's a special
on a Reno Nevada channel we may be
interested in. By the way, downtown
Reno is under four feet of water. The
Truckee River overflowed it's banks
after the last storm.
SCOTT
Dr. Brady go for it.
The TV picture comes into focus showing a picture of a celestial body
taken by the Hubble Telescope. The news-person is Hank Willis of
Station KNXC Reno Nevada .
HANK WILLIS
UFO stirs up terrestrial tempest,
Believers hint at alien mystery;
skeptics see flaws and fakery
Hubbel Space Telescope images of
the Planet. The picture on you
screen is said to show material
being sloughed away from the object
(camera gets close-up of newsman)
It sounds like a story line straight
from Outer limits": Pictures, taken
by amateur astronomers, turn up a
mysterious light accompanying a
Planet through space. True believers
get the word out over the Internet
and talk radio, while the scientific
establishment tries to explain away
the discrepancies. The war of words
soon escalates, with charges of
cover-ups and counter-charges of
fakery.
Scott and Basso exchange questioning glances and HUNTER
throws up her arms in despair.
HANK WILLIS (cont.)
The 'truth is out there' , about 271
million miles out there, in fact,
and getting closer. Rumors are
surrounding Planet X as it swings
around the sun and heads back out
into deep space. Much of the controversy
focuses on a photograph taken by a
Houston amateur astronomer and posted
on the Internet in mid-November. It
shows the Phantom Planet with a bright
object nearby a feature that has come
to be known as the "Saturn-like object"
because of what seems to be an oblique
ring jutting out from each side of the
circle. Houston contend this was a
large, mysterious sphere moving in
tandem with the Planet. Further claims
soon surfaced from various sources: that
the object was sending out radio signals,
that it was a hollow spaceship, that the
government was withholding photos of the
Planet and its "companion" taken by the
Hubble Space Telescope, even that a
prominent unnamed astronomer would
confirm the companion's existence last
week.
BASSO
I wonder who the "prominent Astronomer" is?
HUNTER
If you guess me or HUNTER you will be
half way there.
BASSO
You HUNTER?
HUNTER
No, not me.
SCOTT
How close did you say Planet X will
come to the earth.
BRADY
Planet X will come within 500 thousand
Miles of Earth. At its brightest, the
Planet could rival the star Sirius
although observations will be complicated
by the fact that its projected position
will be relatively close to the sun.
The best viewing should come right
around April Fool's Day.
Scott's cell phone rings and he takes it out of his jacket pocket.
SCOTT
"Scott" (A Beat) Yes of course, ok
goodbye. Director Smith wants us to
fly to DC as soon as possible.
He also wants HUNTER and Dr. Brady
to come.
BASSO
(looking at Brady and HUNTER)
Don't worry the FBI will pickup the
tab for your flight and expenses.
I'll call and get the reservations
started.
SCOTT
No need to do that, he's sending a
Gulfstream III to pick us up at
China Lake.
Brady's cell phone rings and he takes it out of his jacket pocket.
BRADY
"Brady" (A Beat) are you sure of that.
Ok if you need me for the next few days

SCOTT
Are earthquakes the first indication of
widespread damage? And will we be able
to hear them before they start?
HUNTER
The theory is based on the draining
Of surge charges. Because the draining
Occurs from all levels of the atmosphere
at once. During the process, the apex
of the vortex is being pulled strongly
in one direction by a surge of the
lower altitude charge, the vortex
may lean, or bow in the direction of
the surge.
SCOTT
I think I'm following you, but please
go on.
HUNTER
This condition may produce a megaphone
-type effect which announces the temblor
to those in the direction of the surge.
If the epicenter was west of the surge,
the noise would travel east. Those west
of the epicenter wouldn't hear
warning "groans".
BRADY
Geographically, if the epicenter was
in Burbank, and a surge of charge came
from the Inland Empire, persons working
at JPL may hear warning groans, those
at Caltech would not.
BASSO
What about Tsunamis?
BRADY
Off-shore winds push the charges out
over the water and they remain there
until they are able to return to ground.
The same charged air mass can move back
over land by later on-shore winds, or
drain through the sea water to ground.
When the charged air mass drains through
the sea water, the potential for tsunamis
greatly increases. Type II EQ tsunamis
occur when the epicenter of an EQ is
located in shallow water, with the major
wave moving in the direction of deeper water.
SCOTT
Sounds like we have no where to go.
HUNTER
Recently, a tsunami-generating earthquake
whose epicenter was in water near Japan,
caused vertical earth movement and
generated tsunamis.
SCOTT
I had no idea you people had so much data
on Tsunami's.
BRADY
Elementary my dear Watson.
BASSO
Yeah, right. What is the greatest
threat, Earthquakes or Tsunamis?
HUNTER
Both are equally a high threat in
this scenario.
BRADY
If a Type II earthquake drains in too
Deep of water, the weight of the water
Minimizes vertical movement, as does
the fact that the waveform reflects
off surfaces somewhat perpendicular to
the source. If the sea floor is flatter
(as in deeper water), no wave reflection
occurs, hence the threat of tsunami
activity decreases considerably.
BRADY
The call I received a few minutes ago
from the National Security Agency said
the outer space message has been
authenticated and originated over one
hundred and twenty million miles in
deep space!

Looks like a star to me.
BASSO
Planet X has an orbit taking thirty-six
hundred years.
DIRECTOR SMITH
Dr. Brady, is discovering a new Planet a
common event in your business?
BRADY
We expect to discover a Pulsar but
never one in our Solar System.
DIRECTOR SMITH
Pulsar?
HUNTER
Radio signals from the constellation
Virgo led a Penn State professor of
Astronomy to discover the first
planets ever known outside our solar
system. He discovered the planets in
1991 and confirmed their existence
in 1994.
BRADY
Penn State used the worlds largest
Radio telescope to time the radio
signals coming from a distant tiny
star in the constellation Virgo,
7,000 trillion miles from Earth.
These measurements helped him to
determine that two of the planets
are similar in mass to Earth and
the other is about the mass of
the Moon.
DIRECTOR SMITH
Amazing. If you can find a lone planet
7,000 trillion miles from Earth, how
did we miss Planet X?
HUNTER
Until that discovery, the only known
planets were in our solar system.
The work suggests that planets may
be more common in the universe than
astronomers had previously thought.
BRADY
It also will help astronomers to
Understand how planets, including
Earth, are formed.
HUNTER
The planets Penn State found probably
don't support life because the tiny
pulsar star they orbit bombards them
with deadly radiation.
BRADY
However, his discovery increases the
Chances that somewhere in the universe
planets may exist that, like Earth,
are capable of supporting life.
HUNTER
The discovery of a Jupiter mass planet
in orbit around the solar type star
51 Peg has been reported by an
Observatory in Geneva October
of this year. The claim is based on 18 months
of precise Doppler measurements done
with the ELODIE spectrograph.
DIRECTOR SMITH
Whoa! You guys are going over my head.

Give me an example.

Ok, ....the environment of Antarctica is
considered to be one of the most extreme
environments in the world, however,
Antarctica did not always have the adverse
climate that it does today. Several million
years ago, Antarctica, South America, and
Australia were joined together in one large
continental mass.
DIRECTOR SMITH
So that was caused by Planet X passing?
HUNTER
Not exactly. As this continental mass began
to drift south, it also began to break apart
though a process known as plate techtonics.
Eventually this mass broke into the three
separate continents seen today, and Antarctica
settled into it's present location.

Your saying the passing of Planet X will

Once there, the currents surrounding

as circumpolar circulation which
thermally isolated the continent.

The National Security Agency picked
up this radio transmission from
London England.

"Somewhere in the cold vacuum of space
it hurtles towards us. It's moving
faster than any earth space probe and
is as big as Earth. The last time it
visited the inner solar system mankind
was about to invent writing. It is
the Phantom Planet. At the time of its
discovery it was some 250 times brighter
than Haley's Planet at the same distance.
It won't even reach perihelion, its
closest approach to the Sun, until
April. The current orbital elements for
this Planet suggest that it last visited
our neighborhood of space some 3600
years ago. However that number is
speculative since any number of unknown
events in the last four millennia could
have "disturbed" the Planets orbit.
Will it hit us? Maybe, maybe not!

sits down next to HUNTER.

The increase of earthquakes and storms

good hint that you need to move your

So your saying if you live in
California, you should move your

Do you think we are being monitored
as we speak?
TARA
The extraterrestrials are aware of this
transformation the Earth is going through
and are very interested in watching it and
in helping humanity to move into the new age.

You mean they may be arriving on Earth to
rescue us?
TARA
Yes. Many of the great rescues in Earth's
past evolution have occurred because of
extraterrestrial help.

You said rescues, what rescues?
TARA
Earth people in one form or another have
been rescued every 3600 years.
BASSO
I think I follow you. Every time Planet X
comes near the Earth, they rescue people
before the worst of the natural disasters
begin to occur.
TARA
You are very perceptive Agent Basso.
BASSO
What do they look like?
TARA
One important thing to understand is
that not all extraterrestrials have a
human appearance. Our particular kind
of physical body is called the Adam
Kadmon type, as mentioned in the
Hebrew scriptures. There are many other
types of bodies that God has created.
SCOTT
I'm with you, go ahead.
TARA
Humans need to get beyond their egotistical
attachment to this particular form and
realize that humanity is a part of a galactic,
universal, and cosmic family of intelligent
life forms - most of them far more advanced
than this civilization.
BASSO
I guess I just don't know why they
haven't made there presence known on
a grander scale.
TARA
One of the reasons extraterrestrials are
not more overt in their visits to Earth
why they don't make a landing on the White
House lawn in full view is that Earthlings
have been too warlike. Despite technological
advancements. Earth has been a spiritually
backward planet.
