FADE IN EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE - CALIFORNIA - NIGHT EXT. MUROC DRY LAKE Darkness settles over the barren dry lake bed and the cry of a coyote is heard in the distance. There's a crash of thunder and an electrical storm begins pushing huge cumuli-nimbus clouds across the dry lake bed. As the electrical storm intensifies a huge funnel cloud is seen as it comes closer to the cameras POINT OF VIEW. The cloud stops and everything starts to settle down. A NAKED YOUNG MAN with chiseled features, long black hair, a heavy beard and dark skin is seen in the mist and appears to be grimacing while he's THRASHING AND WRITHING in agony and is speaking a language long forgotten. YOUNG MAN (Aramaic) (Yelling and screaming) Father, .... Why are you doing this to me. I did this for you once before and here I am again. Tears are coming down the young mans cheeks and his face is twisted in agony. HEAVENLY VOICE (V.O.) ADON my son, I promise you this will be the last time. ADON Very well father, I will do this for you! The huge cloud starts to disappear and the young man drops in the wet sand and curls up in the fetal position and goes to sleep. The camera pulls away from this sight and pans the barren desert a MILITARY VEHICLE is seen speeding to the young mans position. OFFICER (V.O.) (YELLING) Step on it Airman, I want to see who this fellow is and what he's doing on a RESTRICTED MILITARY RESERVATION. The CAMOUFLAGED HUM "V" Military vehicle pulls up to the young mans position. The officer jumps out of the Hum "V" levels his M16 RIFLE at the intruder and motions for the driver to assist. The camera focuses on the young man laying in the wet sand curled up and motionless. The officer pokes him with the end of his rifle. OFFICER Ok, you ....this is Captain ORVILLE SMITH and you're under arrest! AIRMAN I think he's dead sir, being naked as a jay-bird he's probably dead from exposure. Captain Smith reaches down and feels his throat for a sign of life, feeling a slight pulse. SMITH All the sensors we buried last year on that dry lake and the first thing we catch is a nude man in the middle of nowhere! (pointing to the Hum "V") Airman Jason, get the blanket out of the Hum "V" and lets wrap him up and take him in. On the double! Jason is seen running to the vehicle and getting the blanket. SMITH Come on Airman, get the lead out! Jason runs back to Smith with the blanket and they wrap up the unconscious young man picking him up placing him in the Hum "V". SMITH (Cont.) (carrying the young man) This must be some kind of a initiation for some college kids and when I find out who they are someone's going to jail. JASON This is a real cruel trick! CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE - CALIFORNIA - NIGHT EXT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - INTENSIVE CARE The young man is laying in a hospital bed and is seen with an I.V. in his left arm. He's in a stabilized condition and is being monitored by the nurse in the next room. CLOSE ON YOUNG MAN ADON (Aramaic) (WHISPERING) Father, I don't understand their language, please help me. A mist is seen in the far edge of the room, an Entity begins to appear in the form of a small red cloud. CLOUD (Aramaic) ADON my son, this language they speak is called English, and yes I will help you. ADON (English) Thank you father, I love you! The mist starts to disappear and the young man drops into a deep sleep. The NURSE has read the reports on the tests they've given the young man and is alarmed when she sees the results of blood tests. She picks up the phone and calls the DOCTOR. NURSE (WHISPERING) Dr. BERG, the blood tests have just come back on the young man they found on the dry lake. I think you better come in and see this! The camera focuses on the young mans chart and in the blood type tests, results are in large red ink are the words UNKNOWN. NURSE Holy shit...I've never seen anything like this before, he must be an from another world! CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - INTENSIVE CARE The attending doctor MAJOR TOM BERG is reviewing the lab report with the station nurse and both are very concerned. CLOSE ON DR. BERG BERG (WHISPERING) Helen, I'll have to call Washington on this. A mist forms in the far edge of the room, an Entity begins to appear. It approaches the Major and Lieutenant from behind and covers them. CLOSE ON CLIP BOARD The red ink "Unknown" disappears and is changed to "O" POSITIVE. The name is changed from Unknown to ADON BASHIER. MAJOR (Clearing his throat) Helen, I see nothing wrong with this mans chart, it's just another "O" positive! (pointing to chart) Someone is playing a trick on you! NURSE Thank you Doctor, I guess I'm exhausted, I'm too old to work double shifts. The mist starts to appear again and writing appears on the chart at the end of the patients bed. The Entity disappears. The NURSE re-enters the room and pulls the chart off the bed rail and takes it to the doctor and hands it to him. NURSE (WHISPERING) Dr. BERG, here's the chart. The camera focuses on the young mans chart. BERG His name is ADON BASHIER. Sounds like a middle east name. Lets run a check on him and see what turns up! CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - LOBBY An unshaven young man is trying to get the receptionist's attention. She appears to be on the phone talking to her boyfriend. CLOSE ON YOUNG MAN YOUNG MAN (WHISPERING) Airman BURNS is MAJOR WRIGHT in today? Unable to extract herself from the very intense conversation she points to an office down the left hallway.. CLOSE ON RECEPTIONIST RECEPTIONIST (loosing control) Jack, I have to work late tonight and there's nothing I can do about it! The young man gets the message so he starts walking down the hallway and stops in front of a door with a nameplate "MAJOR COLEMAN WRIGHT CHIEF OF STAFF". He reaches over to the door knob and turns it, the door opens and the camera pans the room then stopping just over his right shoulder. He takes a few steps and closes the door, MAJOR WRIGHT looks up from his reports and appears upset when he sees who it is. INT. EDWARD'S CHIEF OF STAFF - OFFICE WRIGHT Airman Lopez, I know why you're here and believe me, I did everything I could do medically for your wife. I'm sorry we lost her! The young man stares at the officer, but says nothing. WRIGHT (Cont.) Look, I'm really sorry, but there was really nothing we could do! I'll make up a Prescription so you can go down to the Pharmacy and get some Valium. It will make your loss a bit easier. The Doctor pulls out a blank prescription and scribbles on it and hands it to the Airman. WRIGHT (Cont.) (STERN) Airman Lopez, I'm really busy, will you please excuse me. The young man takes the Prescription and stuffs it in his shirt pocket. WRIGHT (being an asshole) Look, you forgot to salute me when you came in, and you really should have gone through the chain of command, but under the circumstances I'll forget it, now if you will .... please excuse me. LOPEZ (In shock) Sir, we both told you she was allergic to Penicillin, why did you give it to her? The officer is starting to feel uneasy. WRIGHT Look, they lost her chart, you can't blame me for that. Lopez reaches around the back of his shirt and removes his service side-arm, a fifteen shot BERETTA Semi-automatic pistol, pulls it out aiming it at the Major, just as he looks up at Lopez. WRIGHT (with authority) Airman Lopez, consider yourself under arrest for pointing a loaded weapon at an officer. Now put that down before I call the Air Police. The young man chambers a round in the BERETTA and pointing it at the Majors face. LOPEZ (crying) You piece of shit, you couldn't care less could you, if it would have been the Colonels wife, you would have torn the place apart looking for her medical history. WRIGHT (STERN) Airman Lopez, this is the last time I will tell you, put the gun down! The young man sees the officer, reaching into his desk drawer pulling out a pistol. WRIGHT (Cont.) I warned you and now you're under arrest! As the Doctor pulls out the pistol Airman Lopez opens fire into the officers face, he empties the clip in a few short seconds. The rounds are seen destroying his face then his neck, arms and chest. He drops on his desk like a sack of potatoes. CLOSE ON DOOR The door starts to open, and Dr. Berg is standing there staring at Lopez with the smoking gun in his hand. He registers extreme shock as he yells. BERG MEDIC'S, MEDIC'S.....MAN DOWN! Lopez is glassy eyed and reaches in his pocket and pulls out a full clip. CLOSE ON HAND HOLDING BERETTA - SLOW MOTION He pushes the button and the empty clip falls out bouncing off the floor, he slips in the new clip and releases the slide. pointing the gun at Berg. LOPEZ (shouting) Shut up .......shut up....! BERG (In shock) Medics ......Medics.......man down! Lopez aims the pistol at Dr. Berg and opens fire emptying all the rounds catching him in the face head neck and chest area. LOPEZ I told you to keep your fucking mouth shut! Lopez ejects the clip and reaches in his pocket and places another loaded one in his gun. He pauses for a minute and runs out of the room. Two Air Policeman come running down the hall and see Lopez with a gun in his hand and start yelling at him. INT. EDWARD'S HOSPITAL - HALLWAY AIR POLICEMAN ONE (with authority) Airman, DROP THE GUN! Lopez fires at both of them striking one in the chest, taking him down. The other opens fire on Lopez and spins him around crashing on the floor. LOPEZ (coughing blood) Maria .....Maria I'm coming ... I'm coming! Lopez rolls over and empties his gun at the standing Policemen striking him several times in the chest LOPEZ (Cont.) (coughing blood) Maria .....Maria I'm coming ... I'm coming!....... The two nurses at the end of the hall are in shock. The door opens from ADON'S room and he steps into the hallway bends over Lopez and holds his hand over the chest wound. A glow emanates from his open palms and the wound quickly heals, holding his hand over the forehead of Lopez his eyes open. Lopez wipes his face and gets on his feet. He looks around, runs down the hallway and out the front door. NURSE ONE (In shock) I don't believe what I saw, that young man healed the gun wounds in seconds! NURSE TWO (Also in shock) Who can he be with these special powers! ADON looks around, opening the door to his room, walks in and closes the door. CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE NIGHT EXT. TARMAC - RUNWAY TWO-FOUR RIGHT Cameras point of view shows the front end of a BEECHCRAFT KING AIR with landing lights, and on HIGH-SPEED take off roll, ready to rotate. Airman Lopez is seen running across the active runway and when he sees the approaching aircraft stops dead in his tracks and freezes. The pilot has started to rotate and in a split second sees the young man hit the starboard propeller. Blood is scattered all over the wind shield and pieces of flesh and hair are crusted on the wind screens. The terror registering on the two pilots face's is extreme. INT. BEECHCRAFT KING AIR - PILOTS COMPARTMENT CAPTAIN GANT (yelling into microphone) Edward's tower this is Beechcraft niner-two-whisky on runway two-four right. Over. EDWARD'S TOWER Beechcraft niner-two-whiskey we read you five by five, over. CAPTAIN GANT We've hit what appears to be a young man crossing two-four right. We need clearance for an immediate landing. EDWARD'S TOWER Niner-two whiskey you're cleared for an immediate landing on two-four left. Please report to the tower upon landing. Over and out. CAPTAIN GANT (TALKING TO CO-PILOT) Oh my god, what was he doing on the runway! CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE NIGHT EXT. BASE OPERATIONS FLIGHT OFFICE INT. BASE COMMANDERS CONFERENCE ROOM Cameras point of view shows A meeting in progress with the Base Commander BRIGADIER GENERAL JOHN WINSTON, a middle age man with a CLARK GABLE mustache. The Executive Officer COLONEL LONNY BOND a black man in his early forties and the Chief of Security MAJOR DONALD BALL a young man in his thirties. WINSTON (yelling) Donny, how would you like duty in GREENLAND. BALL What do you mean SIR? WINSTON When I turn in my report on the two officers and two enlisted men killed by a one of our own men in the hospital, I can guarantee that you and I will go to THULE AIR FORCE BASE! BALL It wasn't my fault! Sir! WINSTON (yelling) Oh, really Donny who's fucking fault was it, one of your ass wipe Second Louie's, or maybe it was Santa or the Easter Bunny! BOND Johnny, we can't be everywhere at the same time. WINSTON When I turn in my report your name will be on it too. So get some warm clothes. BALL Shit happens Johnny. WINSTON Oh? That's the best you can do? Shit happens! And what did you find out about the rag head who brings killers back to life? BALL Nothing. WINSTON Nothing? You know I'm going to save our great country a lot of money. I'll just have both of you shot. BALL Shot Sir? WINSTON (yelling) Both of you better have a lot more answers than you have now before the sun comes up, or I personally will ship both of you to THULE Air Force Base. BOND Yes sir. We'll get right on it! WINSTON When I have my breakfast tomorrow morning I better have a report on my table or you two are history. By next week you two will be freezing your ass off issuing electrically warmed rubbers too your enlisted men. Do you hear what I'm saying, Sergeants! BALL Yes sir , we'll get right on it. WINSTON If you think this is just a chew out and I'll forget it, your wrong, I wont! If you think I'm kidding about THULE, I'm not and from now on address me as General, not Johnny, you two have lost that privilege forever! Now get the fuck out of here! CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - LOBBY Major Ball is talking to the duty nurse and receptionist who were present when all the shooting was going on. CLOSE ON DUTY NURSE NURSE (WHISPERING) Sir, I saw it with my own two eyes when the Air Police shot Airman Lopez, and Sir he went down hard. Then BASHIER came out of his room, real casual like bent down touched him and zip in two minutes he's up and gone. Major Ball and the nurse are walking down the left hallway headed for Adon Bashiers room. Two Air Policemen are standing guard and come to attention and salute the Major. CLOSE ON MAJOR MAJOR (Mean and Nasty) Men, no one is to see Bashier unless they get my permission first! The Major and the nurse go into the room. INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - BASHIERS ROOM Bashier is seen sitting on his bed reading a magazine. He looks up and smiles at them. BALL (STERN) Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing on a restricted military base? The young man stares at the officer, but says nothing. BALL (Cont.) Look, I'm talking to you boy and I want some answers. Bashier waves his hand in front of Major Ball and the nurse and they both stare at Bashier. BALL (Cont.) Airman Lopez, the man you revived killed four people, then took his own life when he ran across the active runway! The young man folds his legs under himself and starts to talk in perfect English. ADON I, am the son of God and I'm here to save souls. The reason you found me where you did was because that's where my father decided to deposit me. I'm sorry if I've caused you any worry or inconvenience but I certainly could have done very nicely without the provision of your hospital and armed guards. if you can provide me with some decent street clothes I will be on my way. NURSE (In shock) Sir, maybe he is the son of god! The officer is starting to feel uneasy. BALL Did you attend to Airman Lopez and bring him back to life, after dying from severe gunshot wounds? Adon motions for the Nurse to approach him, she resists so he waves his hand and she walks up to him. He places his right hand on her forehead and begins to talk. ADON Airman Burns, at three years old you broke the femur bone in your right leg and spent one month in traction and six weeks in a full body cast. At five you fell off your horse and broke your right arm. At ten you had your tonsils removed and spent a night in the hospital. At eighteen you had a minor operation to correct a club foot ....and on and on do you need to hear more? Bond and the nurse are standing there with their mouths open. BALL (looking at the Nurse) Well nurse Burns is that right? BURNS (In shock) Yes it is, how in gods name would he have access to that kind of information? Adon looks at the officer and the nurse and speaks very quietly. ADON I told you I was the son of god and there is nothing I can't do! CLOSE ON DOOR The door starts to open, and Colonel Bond is standing there staring at Major Ball. BOND There you are Major, I've been looking all over for you, don't you answer your beeper any more? BALL Sir this man says he's the son of god. BOND Son of God, if he's the son of god then I'm Elvis Presley. Adon stares at bond, with a curious stare and smiles and asks Bond a question. ADON Your Nubian? BOND (Upset) I'm American, why do you think all black people are NUBIAN? ADON Your great-grand-mother Anabella on your fathers side was Nubian. CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S OFFICER'S MESS HALL - GENERALS WING General Winston is having his breakfast and is reading an incident report while Colonel Bond and Major Ball look on. WINSTON (STERN) The son of god? You two are buying this bullshit? The General throws the report across the room and gets up and walks out of the dinning room. BALL Well, what now Lonny? Colonel Bond throws his hands up in despair and shakes his head. BOND Donny, he's bound and determined that we're both full of shit. The chef comes over and pours more coffee in their cups, and hands them a Pecan Muffin. BOND I think for our own peace of mind we need to call in a specialist for this kind of situation. I called a friend of mine in the Inspector Generals office and he's contacting a DR. EVAN HUNTER, a Para-psychologist BALL What if the General finds out, he may cut our balls off over this. BOND (looking out the window) What makes you think he won't do it anyway! BALL (In shock) Yes I guess your right, we have to give it our best shot. BOND Well it's been nice working here Donny! CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE TWO DAYS LATER EXT. TARMAC - RUNWAY TWO-FOUR RIGHT Cameras point of view shows the front end of a BEECHCRAFT KING AIR leaving the hi-speed off ramp and taxing into place in front of the Main terminal building. The pilots shut down engine TWO then engine ONE and the noise goes from a hi-shrill of a prop-jet engine to a whir of propeller blades going to negative pitch then shutting down. The passenger door opens and a nice looking man in his late fifties, with a muscular build, and a serious look on his face steps out of the door and comes down the stairs. He has a suitcase and an attaché case. A Hum "V" pulls up and a sergeant gets out and speaks to him. They both walk back to the vehicle and get in. The Hum "V" is seen speeding down the airport access road. INT. HUM "V" MILITARY VEHICLE - GUEST IN REAR CLOSE ON SERGEANT SERGEANT (yelling into rear of Hum "V") Welcome to Edwards DR. HUNTER, how was your flight? HUNTER (V.O.) Coming over the last mountain range was a little rough. But other than that, ok. SERGEANT Colonel Bond is waiting for you in the officers mess. Have you had breakfast yet sir? CLOSE ON HUNTER HUNTER Sergeant, I need to make a phone call, but I don't think my Cell phone will pick up. SERGEANT (V.O.) Oh no problem sir, we've installed repeaters all over the place, go for it the call should go through! CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE EXT. BASE OPERATIONS FLIGHT OFFICE INT. BASE OPERATIONS Cameras point of view shows A conference in progress with the officer of the day and Dr. Hunter. OFFICER Dr. we have quarters set up for you in the officers wing, so if you follow me over you can stash your gear, then I'll take you over to the Officers mess where Colonel Bond is waiting for you. (the Officer glances at his watch) What time do you have sir? HUNTER Nine-fifty-nine, why? OFFICER CHINA LAKE has a test at ten this morning. HUNTER China Lake? OFFICER NAVAL WEAPONS TEST CENTER, they have a device going off just about now, lets duck under the conference table. The officer dives under the table and Hunter follows. Cameras point of view shows the entire base has taken cover, when a tremendous blast is heard and a shock wave is felt then some of the windows pop out! The shock wave continues to be felt. HUNTER What the shit was that? OFFICER CHINA LAKE'S contribution to the non-cold war, non-nuclear device race, to see who can make the biggest and the loudest. CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S OFFICER'S MESS HALL - GENERALS WING General Winston is having his breakfast and is in conversation with Colonel Bond and Major Ball. WINSTON (STERN) I don't remember signing a paper requesting special personnel? The General throws his hands up and takes another sip of coffee. BALL We need some special help on this. You don't want the FBI all over the place do you sir? Colonel Bond looks over his shoulder and sees Dr. Hunter being led by the officer-of-the-day and they're headed for their table. BOND Dr. Hunter I presume? The introductions go around the table and the officer leaves. Hunter sits down and joins the group. BOND How was your flight? HUNTER The flight was fine, but the blast at ten scared the hell out of me. WINSTON (looking out the window) Damn Navy thinks they can do anything they want. They forget were here too! HUNTER I thought it was a nuclear test. BOND Well it wasn't, it was a damn FUEL-AIR bomb, dropped from sixty-thousand and detonated at one thousand feet above the deck. General Winston takes his cellular phone out from his jacket and pushes a button. WINSTON (STERN) Let me talk to Admiral Jones. (A beat) God-damn-it Jimmy, when is this shit going to stop, I'm sending you a bill for all the windows you broke today. Pause. Oh really, well fuck you too! The General places his phone back in his jacket and takes another sip of his coffee. WINSTON Asshole! "Call the Chiefs of staff and tell them to postponed the tests"! Fucking Navy! Major Bond looks over his shoulder and sees an Air policeman come running to him. AIR POLICE Major Ball, ADON BASHIER is missing! BOND What do you mean missing? HUNTER Well this was a wasted trip! WINSTON (looking out the window) Damn Navy I think I'll send one of my stealth fighters and drop some starburst bombs on his stupid golf course and see how he feels about that! He thinks he can do whatever he wants! Shit for brains! (looking at Bond) What the fuck did that AP (Ape) want? HUNTER Your guest has disappeared? WINSTON You know, it doesn't surprise me but it does concern me. I wonder how long it will take me to get replacements for you two! CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - LOBBY Major Ball is talking to the duty nurse and Colonel Bond is talking to the two AP'S who were guarding Bashier. CLOSE ON DUTY NURSE NURSE (very upset) Sir, I walked in the room to give him his breakfast and he was gone! We searched everywhere and he was nowhere to be found. Major Ball, Colonel Bond, the two AP's and the nurse are walking down the left hallway headed for Adon Bashiers room. CLOSE ON BOND BOND (Pissed off) If I end up in Thule, you people will go too! Bond and the nurse go into Bashiers room. INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - BASHIERS ROOM Bashier is seen sitting on his bed reading a Novel. He looks up and smiles at them. BALL (STERN) Where the hell have you been? The young man stares at the officer, but says nothing. BALL (Cont.) Look, I'm talking to you boy and I want some answers. Bashier waves his hand in front of Major Ball and the nurse and they both stare at Bashier. BALL (Cont.) Young man, where were you? The young man folds his legs under himself and starts to address the Major. ADON I was doing my fathers work. NURSE (In shock) Sir, he was not here! The officer is starting to feel uneasy. BALL Did you disappear? Adon points to the window. ADON Airman Burns is telling the truth I went through there. I took a nice walk in the garden and had a very nice chat with some of your patients. Bond and the nurse are standing there with their mouths open. BOND (looking at the Adon) That's three stories down, did you fly? BURNS (In shock) Yes I guess he must have flown! Adon looks at Colonel Bond when he walks in. ADON Hello Colonel Bond, how are you? Is your arthritis still acting up? CLOSE ON DOOR The door starts to open, and General Winston is standing there staring at Adon. WINSTON What the hells going on in here I thought you said he was missing? BALL Sir this man says he left the room to visit the garden. BOND If he did, he had a magic carpet. Adon stares at Winston with a hard stare and smiles and asks him a question. ADON How long have you had the raised black mole on your right shoulder? WINSTON (Upset) How the hell did you know I have a mole? ADON If you don't remove it soon it will cost you your life. CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S BRIG - CONFERENCE ROOM General Winston is having A conference with Major Ball, Colonel Bond and Dr. Hunter. WINSTON (STERN) The son of god? This team has twenty-four hours to find out who he is or I will have all of you shot. I've had quite enough of this bullshit? The General gets up and walks out of the room. BALL Well, what now Lonny? Colonel Bond throws his hands up in despair and shakes his head. BOND Donny, I think he will have a heart attack before he ships us out. The detention guard bends down and whispers to Colonel Bond. BOND (Cont.) Airman Owen says Adon wants to talk to Dr. Hunter. CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S BRIG - DETENTION ROOM Bashier is seen looking through the bars in the window of his cell. HUNTER (With compassion) I'm Dr. hunter, you asked to see me? The young man stares at Dr. Hunter, but says nothing. HUNTER (Cont.) Look, I'm here to help you. You have nothing to fear. I will not hurt you. You must trust me. Bashier waves his hand in front of Hunter and an entity forms in the corner of the cell. ENTITY Why are you treating the son of god in this fashion. You should be on your knees adoring him, not torturing him. The Entity appears as the head of one of Christ's disciples and is floating. ADON I was doing my fathers work. ENTITY (HEAVY VOICE) He's trying to save all of your miserable souls. Dr. Hunter is starting to feel uneasy. HUNTER Why is the son of god here now in 1995, why not ten years ago? Adon looks out the window. ADON Dr. Hunter the world is coming to an end in less than five years. CUT TO: INT. EDWARD'S DETENTION CENTER - CONFERENCE ROOM General Winston is coming unglued with the report Dr. Hunter is giving him. WINSTON (STERN) The son of god and his guardian angel talked to you about the end of the world, in five years. The General gets up and paces around the room. BALL Well, what now Lonny? Colonel Bond looks at the General then at Dr. Hunter. BOND Dr. Hunter what does he want? HUNTER Adon wants us to release him so he can continue his work. WINSTON (pissed) The son of god is staying in that holding cell until we find out who the hell he is and why he was on restricted government property. BALL Shit! Colonel Bond looks at Dr. Hunter. BOND Dr. Hunter what did he say he would do if we don't release him? HUNTER Adon said he will do nothing, but said his GUARDIAN ANGEL will free him within the hour. Look, I had a patient last year who thought he was a re-incarnated Holy Man and I took him to our research Center and in six months he was cured. Let me do the same with Adon, let me take him to WOODVIEW. BALL Shit! Let him go General, let him go! General Winston starts pacing the length of the conference room floor and then stops and faces everyone. WINSTON (At his wits end) Ok, Dr. Hunter, I will place this man under your care and provide transportation to where ever you want, but the window ends at daybreak. If he's still here I will drop him by parachute on the Admirals golf course at China Lake. Then I will send you two to Thule Air Force Base on one way orders! Good-bye and good riddance. Winston grabs his portfolio case and storms out the door slamming it behind him. BALL Well, what now Lonny? Colonel Bond looks at Ball then at Dr. Hunter. BOND Dr. Hunter how soon can you be ready to go? HUNTER One hour, but I need street clothes for Adon. A fast helicopter and a signed release from the Executive Officer releasing Adon in my care! BOND Done! Anything else? HUNTER Flight plan the helicopter for the LAX control area and have it ready to go in an hour. In addition to the clothes make sure he has decent shoes and a warm jacket. BOND BALL You got it! Right, you got it! CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE - CALIFORNIA - NIGHT EXT. MUROC DRY LAKE - CLASSIFIED HELIO-PORT CAMERAS POINT OF VIEW. The floodlights are on the pad where a large executive helicopter is seen with blades turning and clearance lights and strobe flashing. A slight breeze has descended on the lake bed and two Hum "V"s have driven up to the site. Air Police are everywhere. CLOSE ON HUM "V" ONE. Dr. Hunter is seen getting out of the Hum "V" and runs over to HUM "V" TWO where Air Policemen assist Adon Bashier out of the rear seat and accompany him to the waiting helicopter. Dr. Hunter has some last minute words with Major Ball and Colonel Bond and hand waves are issued and Hunter runs over to the waiting helicopter. Adon is helped into the helicopter by the Air policemen and Hunter jumps in the rear seat with him. An Air Policemen gets in on the other side and the two pilots make motions to the ground personnel to clear the area for takeoff. INT. MUROC DRY LAKE - EXECUTIVE HELICOPTER PILOT ONE (WEARING HELMET WITH RADIO COMMUNICATIONS) Edwards Flight Control this is Huey six-fiver-two-Bravo at Proprietary Helio-Port ready for takeoff, with wind advisory echo issued at 1800. Pilot one is seen increasing the throttle and pulling up the collective stick and the helicopter starts to rise off the pad and gyrates slowly. EDWARDS CONTROL (V.O.) Edwards Control to Huey six-fiver-two bravo you are cleared for take off. PILOT ONE Edwards Flight Control this is Huey six-fiver-two-Bravo we roger that clearance and will report when in LAX Control Center, over and out. CUT TO: EXT. EDWARD'S AIR FORCE BASE - CALIFORNIA - NIGHT EXT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL INT. EDWARD'S MILITARY HOSPITAL - INTENSIVE CARE General WINSTON is seen laying in a hospital bed with an I.V. in his left arm. He's in a stabilized condition and is being monitored by the nurse in the next room. The relief nurse walks into the room with the other nurse. She looks at the progress of the patient. CLOSE ON NURSE RELIEF NURSE Shit, I always knew the General would end up like this. This morning he was shouting at everyone and now he's laying in there recovering from a heart attack. The relief nurse turns a few pages and notices a new entry. She points it out to the evening nurse. EVENING NURSE The Doctor found a mole and removed it and it looks MALIGNANT. So it looks like MELANOMA, talk about luck! RELIEF NURSE You know Burns told me that guy they found on the dry lake .... Adon Bashier, told the General he had a MOLE, how they hell did he know that! CLOSE ON NURSE EVENING NURSE (WHISPERING) Shit, Burns told me she saw the same guy touch Lopez and in less than a minute, his gun shot wound was healed and was up on his feet and gone! RELIEF NURSE You think maybe he was the son of god like he said he was!.... CUT TO:
