Conservation Station-Lots of interactive exhibits geared towards increasing awareness in protecting wild animals. Pretty neat stuff-you can see the vets examining animals and even go into an open area where you can pet and play with goats.
Countdown to Extinction-Cool. At this point, it's the only real thrill ride in the park, and it's a whopper. Go back 65 million years to bring back a dinosaur, while dodging all kinds of obstacles.
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail-A walking trail that takes you through areas where different types of animals can be viewed up close, like gorillas, hippos, birds, and lots of other stuff.
One of the inhabitants of Gorilla Falls
Kali River Rapids-A white water raft ride. You will get wet!
Kilimanjaro Safaris-Almost like a real African safari. Get into an open air safari truck and see lots of animals up close and personal. Pretty cool-there was a giraffe so close to our truck, we could almost reach out and touch it.
Primeval Whirl-A twist on the "mouse" type of roller coaster. On this one, the car spins around in circles while you are going along on the tracks.
Wildlife Express-A train ride, which they took the time to make look just as beat up looking as a train travelling across Africa. It takes you to Conservation Station, listed above.
Shows
Colors of the Wind, Friends from the Animal Forest-A live show based on Disney's 'Pocahontas'. An enjoyable show, using songs from the movie along with lots of live animals to help people understand the importance of the forest.
Festival of the Lion King-By far, the BEST show in the park. This is NOT like the Broadway show, so don't be dissapointed. (You think they'd give you something free that they're charging other people $75 for??) It's a great show, though, very lively and always crowded. Keep the show times in mind and try to get in line at least a half hour before it starts, or you might not get in.
Flights of Wonder-A live show without any singing. See lots of birds in flight that you've never seen up close. Really neat show.
It's Tough to be a Bug-A 4D movie experience located in the Tree of Life. Don't worry about the lines here, it's interesting to get up close to the tree and look at all the intricate animal carvings covering the trunk. The movie, however, is NOT for the faint of heart, or people who are terrified of bugs.
Food
The Rainforest Cafe-The only table service restaurant in the park-all the rest are counter service. The best food and biggest variety by far, but as the Animal Kingdom grows, they're bound to add more stuff. It's a pretty neat theme restaurant, anyway. Lots of animatronic animals and there's a thunderstorm every 20 minutes!
Flame Tree Barbecue-Like we said, you gotta get your own food at the counter here, but for quick eats, this is the best. It's all barbecue selections here, but they're really good, especially the pork barbecue sandwich.
Restaurantosaurus-Partly McDonalds, partly not. Counter service. They have McDonald's fries and chicken nuggets, but the burgers and hot dogs are decidedly not the kind McDonalds serves. They're much bigger, tastier, and there's a nice fixins bar, including hot items, that you'd never see at a Mickey D's.
