DISNEYLAND

It's the original! Even if you've been to Walt Disney World in Florida, you've just gotta come here! It's neat to see the original Magic Kingdom, as Walt Disney conceived it, and there's nothing like the new park, Disney's California Adventure!

The Original Magic Kingdom

Rides
Alice in Wonderland A caterpillar rides you through Alice's adventures in Wonderland.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad You're on a runaway train going through a gold mine. Not a bad roller coaster.
Haunted Mansion We saw this when it was decorated for Christmas, which is an absolute must see. The theme was from the movie "A Nightmare Before Christmas", which was really neat.
Indiana Jones Adventure A very intense ride-get in a jeep that goes through the jungle in search for Indiana Jones, who has disappeared into the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
It's a Small World A slow boat moves you through some very pretty animatronics. It's tedious to some, as the song repeats over and over, but children love it. It's even better at Christmas, when it's decorated for the holidays, and Christmas songs are mixed in with the regular one.
Matterhorn A rocky roller coaster ride down an icy mountain.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride A ride based on the children's novel "The Wind in the Willows". Mr. Toad drives you through his adventures, and doing a terrible job of it, crashing into everything.
Peter Pan's Flight A nice tame ride that flies you through the adventures of Peter Pan. Check it out-the design is neat to see.
Pirates of the Caribbean Get in a boat that floats through an animatronic show set in a rowdy pirate's village.
Space Mountain Better than the one in Florida. The cars here have 2 riders side by side, unlike Florida's. We think this roller coaster is faster, too.
Splash Mountain A log flume ride, to the theme of the adventures of Brer Rabbit and his friends. You will get wet.
Star Tours A virtual ride through the battle of Endor from "Return of the Jedi".
Shows
Enchanted Tiki Room Still the original show, unlike the one in Florida, which has been updated. A cute animatronic show with a tune you'll be humming the rest of the day.
Honey I Shrunk the Audience A 3D film starring the characters from "Honey I Shrunk the Kids". An experiment goes awry and your movie theater is shrunk. Be warned there are some live effects that are quite scary if you aren't ready for them.

Disney's California Adventure

Rides 'n' such
California Screamin' A very fast roller coaster-it's magnetic induction technology boosts you through the ride like a rocket. It's worth the wait.
Grizzly River Run A white water rafting ride. You WILL get wet!
It's Tough to Be a Bug A 3D movie with some surprising live effects. If you don't like bugs, you might want to skip this one.
Maliboomer One of those rides where you sit in a chair and go straight up into the air, like one of those games where you take the hammer and ring the bell.
Mulholland Madness A deceptively simple looking roller coaster. It's one of the wild mouse type of coasters, with small cars that whip around little steel tracks. At the top, the hairpin corners your car turns will make your hair stand on end.
Muppet Vision 3D A 3D film starring the Muppets. It's funny! Not only is it a 3D film, but there's lots of live action going on all around you.
Soarin' Over California The most beautiful ride anyone has ever created. Basically it's a virtual hangglider ride. You go flying over familiar California landmarks and scenery. The difference is that with the cool breeze that you feel, and the smells that are pumped in, it's SO COOL. If this is the only ride you get on, this one ride makes the park's admission price worth it.
Sun Wheel A scary ferris wheel, believe it or not. If you are of the faint of heart set, be sure to get a stationary car. The moving cars are set on steel loops inside the wheel, which can get pretty scary when the wheel starts moving.

Tours and Movies
Boudin Bakery Mmmm. A tour through a working sourdough bread factory. The bread made here is used throughout the resort. The narration by Rosie O'Donnell and Colin Mochrie is funny.
Golden Dreams Whoopie Goldberg narrates this movie about the history of California.
Mission Tortilla Factory A tour through a tortilla factory. Depending on the time of day, there are different types of tortillas made here. The machine that rejects unsatisfactory ones is pretty neat.
Seasons of the Vine A presentation that shows the chronology of the wine making process.
