Magic Kingdom Tips

Rides/Attractions

We've put the most important stuff in, but this is by no means a complete list. There's just too much.
Tomorrowland Now known as the "New Tomorrowland", this area of the park has been completely renovated and rates with us as the coolest part of the Magic Kingdom.
Astro Orbiter-Flying rockets that are on the tower in the middle of Tomorrowland. A good view from these.
Carousel of Progress-A show. The stage is divided into a number of parts which the audience revolves around. It shows how far we've come since electrical appliances were first invented.
Extra Terrorestrial Alien Encounter-A new ride based on the popular "Alien" movies, which is located where Mission to Mars used to be. It's pretty scary. An alien is accidentally transported to earth and boy does it feel like he's right behind you.
Space Mountain-An indoor roller coaster. It's really cool to ride one in the dark!
The Timekeeper-A 360 degree movie screen is used as part of a show about time travel.
Tomorrowland Speedway-Race cars.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority-Once known as the Wedway People Mover, this ride snakes throughout Tomorrowland, giving you a nice break and lots of great views of Disney World.

Frontierland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad-This innocent looking little railroad is actually a really cool roller coaster.
Splash Mountain-Get totally soaked while you relive some of the adventures of Brer Rabbit.
Walt Disney World Railroad-A railroad with 3 stops (Frontierland, Mickey's Toontown Fair, and Main Street) that goes around the entire Magic Kingdom. A nice way to see the lay of the land and get some good pictures.

Adventureland-Looks like it might be the next land to be remodeled. The Swiss Family Treehouse and a couple of other things were closed for renovation when we were there.
The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management-A show. They've revamped the old Tiki Room and made it a really fun show starring Zazu (from the Lion King) and some of your other favorite Disney birds.
Pirates of the Caribbean-Board a boat and sail through the adventures of a band of pirates. The Audio-Animatronics are pretty good. Might be scary for younger children.

Liberty Square
Diamond Horseshoe Saloon Revue- An hour long show that is a re-creation of a show you might have seen in a saloon in the old west. Pretty good. Get there early, because the tables are first come, first served. There is a cafeteria-style food counter here, too, so you can make the hour your lunch or dinner hour, too.
Hall of Presidents-Another show featuring the Audio-Animatronics. All of the presidents are represented in this show which discusses the history of the Constitution.
The Haunted Mansion-Showing it's age, but still worth a look.

Fantasyland
It's A Small World-The kids love this one because it's so colorful, but after 10 minutes of the "It's a Small World" song, adults will be ready for the nuthouse.
Legend of the Lion King-This is NOT a preview of the broadway show. It is a puppet show based on the film, with puppets that look like the film characters. It's a nice show, with the same basic soundtrack taken from the movie.
Mad Tea Party-Everybody loves to spin themselves silly in these oversized teacups.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride-A ride based on the popular children's book, "The Wind in the Willows".
Peter Pan's Flight-Board Captain Hook's ship for a flight to Neverland and a retelling of the story of Peter Pan.
Skyway to Tomorrowland-An aerial tram car that is suspended high above the Magic Kingdom takes you to Tomorrowland. Nice for picture taking.
Snow White's Adventures-A ride based on the Disney movie, although we don't understand why they've revamped it so that it's not a scary ride anymore. What's the point of getting on a ride if it's boring?

The Best Restaurants

There aren't any. The Crystal Palace is off our list now, because it's now a buffet (for all 3 meals) that's entirely too expensive, considering what they're offering. We also don't recommend Tony's Town Square (the Italian Restaurant). The service wasn't so great, the food wasn't so great either. And there wasn't much of a selection. You're probably better off getting your hand stamped, getting on the monorail and checking out one of the many restaurants they have at the Polynesian Resort, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary Resort, or even Epcot, since the monorail goes there, too. Or if you don't want to take that much time, there's plenty of quick, cheap eats like hot dogs, burgers, and stuff like that.
