VAMPIRA

THE first horror host. Though on the air from March 1954 until she was blacklisted in December 1954 on KABC-TV in LA, Vampira became a national phenomenon. Today, Maila Nurmi is still active doing conventions and produces her own arts and crafts. Unfortunately, no known footage of her live TV show exists. These vidcaps were taken from her appearance in "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and a recent interview from "Flying Saucers over Hollywood: The Plan 9 Companion.
