BRUCE DERNAlright, perhaps not a horror host per se, but as the host of LOST DRIVE-IN on the Speedvision cable network the respected actor rants upon and remembers the drive-in system which produced many of the flicks later enjoyed by late-night viewers. Speedvision is a network devoted to vehicular racing and LOST DRIVE-IN focuses on speed-oriented flicks, beginning The Wild Angels, in which Dern appeared for Roger Corman in 1966. Dern hosts the films in a vein similar to Joe Bob Briggs, clad in a mechanic's uniform and prowling the remains of a delapidated and deserted drive-in somewhere in America. As of this update (July 2001) Lost Driove-In remains on the Speedvision schedule, two showings each Saturday evening (not certain if their producing any new programs or if these are just re-runs).
