ZACHERLEY
One of the founders of the Horror Host genre. First appeared as "Roland" on WCAU in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then changed his name to Zacherley and changed the location to New York. From the early 1950's to the early 1960's, he has appeared on WABC, WOR and WPIX as an host in one form or another; whether it was a horror movie, children's show or a dance program. He also had a good deal of success as an FM radio disco jockey (WNEW) in NYC in the late '60's to mid '70's. Currently, John Zacherle is not in good health so we wish him well.
