AGENT FOXY SCULDER
Foxy Sculder's life changed one day in 1973 when his hamster, Chewy, was abducted
from his house by forces unknown never to be seen again. From that day forth,
Sculder became a believer in all things strange and kooky, aiming to one day find his
hamster and possibly his sanity as well. He trained in the FBI as a criminal analyst.
However, one day on a trip to the photocopier he stumbled across a room full of
abandoned cases which had never been solved: Sculder made them his priority, and
his obsession... His work soon begun to attract the attention of his superiors whom,
suspicious of what he was uncovering, partnered him up with Agent Danish Mully, a
sceptic, to debunk his work.
However, instead Sculder and Mully worked together on the cases, solving cases
ranging from bizarre disappearances to apparently unsolveable murders. However,
soon it became clear to Sculder that a wider picture was being uncovered: of a
massive conspiracy run by secret forces within the Government. The first key piece of
evidence came in the discovery of the town of Xmas, home to many experiments and
strange occurrences (The Xmas Files) However, the government were
already plotting against him and Sculder's discovery led to both the death of one of his
trusted informants and the abduction of Mully. (Restoration) And despite the
latter's return, the Hex Files were subsequently closed down.
Undeterred, Sculder continued the work in secret and uncovered evidence of
Government contact with aliens (Les Visiteurs) It was his determination
which prompted the re-opening of the Hex Files soon afterwards. However,
determination was also set to almost prove his undoing he uncovered the
Government's secret UFO files and set out to New Mexico to find the evidence which
would their authenticity where the Pipe Smoking Man tried to kill him. (Exodus
Res Dana)
Sculder survived and uncovered the shocking truth that his own father had been
involved in the secret Project he was investigating, which both connected to Mully
and his hamster's abductions. Resolved to uncover evidence about the Project. When
Spinner was miraculously healed my a mysterious stranger, Sculder sought him
believing to be a product of that same Project (Cabrit Sans Cord). Once again
his path took him away from Mully as she sought the truth about her abduction,
leading to another life threatening confrontation, this time with an alien Bounty
Hunter intent on killing the test subject Sculder was tracking down.
A lucky escape was all that saved Sculder and he travelled
with Joshua Jones to Canada with the promise of seeing his hamster (Black
Death). What he found was a farm full of clones, more products of the sinister
Project. Sculder's investigation also led him to the truth about Mully's cancer: that it
was caused by the Posh Club's conspirators. When such a cure appeared to be within
his grasp,
Sculder gave everything to follow its holder, Alec Bicep to Russia. (From Russia
with Hate) Made victim to a
terrifying experiment involving an alien virus and a weak vaccine (Tungaga)
Sculder was more determined than ever to find evidence. On a tip from one of his
sources he rushed to a mountain peak to uncover what he was told was an alien
corpse.
(Golgotha) Instead, he was
informed that everything he believed was in fact a hoax and that his life was a lie. The
thought that his entire life's work was built on lies, and that he was responsible for
Mully's impending demise, was crushing to Sculder, and drove him to the brink of
suicide.
At his lowest ebb, the Pipe Smoking Man approached and offered him a deal: the real
truth and the chance to cure Mully in exchange for his commitment to the Posh Club.
Sculder, however, refused and instead resolved to expose the treachery which had
tried to kill both himself and Mully. (Redox Too) His new found scepticism
of alien life initially made him unconvinced when abductee Cassandra Spencer approached with
information about the aliens. (Prophecy Woman) Mully's subsequent
experience of almost being abducted again, along with a confrontation with Alec
Bicep, convinced Sculder that what he had believed all along had been the truth: the
Posh Club's conspiracy involved an alien race. Unbeknownst to him, though, the Posh
Club at the same time resolved to remove him as a threat for good. The Pipe Smoking
Man returned and seemingly wiped away all the evidence the agents had accumulated
by burning down the Hex Files and discrediting Sculder. (The End of the
Beginning)
However, instead of breaking Sculder it only strengthened him, especially when he
and Mully discovered definitive proof of the Posh Club's plans for Earth to be
re-colonised by alien Teletubbies. (The Hex Files Movie) Sculder's
determined pursuit led him
literally to the ends of the Earth to find Mully when she was re-abducted, risking his
own life in the pursuit.
Sculder's actions forced the re-opening of the Hex Files, but he was denied access
when the work was passed over to his enemy, Agent Jeffery Spencer (The
Beginning of the End) This was another stage in the Pipe Smoking Man's plans:
replacing Sculder with a new agent to control, his own son. Having been reinvested,
though, Sculder's relentless search for the truth continued when he worked undercover
with Mully to investigate more Hex Files. The return of Cassandra Spencer with
information about the Posh Club allowed Sculder and Mully to finally reveal the
extent of the conspiracy, but made Sculder face the ultimate choice: whether to give
in to the Pipe Smoking Man's explanation that there was nothing he could do to
prevent the end of the world, or fight his seemingly pointless cause. (Tomorrow's
End) He resolved to pursue the latter with Mully, a course which saved him from
the massacre which killed the Posh Club. Reassigned back to the Hex Files with the
conspiracy over, Sculder's quest became solely that of finding his lost hamster.
Desperate to speak to the alien Colonists, he went back to the scene of the first Hex
File and risked his life to discover whether they had Chewy. (Life) It was to
cost him dearly, however, when he was abducted by the Colonists...
Returned three months later, Sculder found himself and his work on trial for his life.
(Nothing Like the Truth) The trial, though, was a sham organised by the Pipe
Smoking Man to force Sculder to reveal to him the location of the vaccine to the alien
virus. Sculder initially resisted but, when offered the chance for survival and the location for his hamster in
exchange, made the deal which spared his life. Seemingly having abandoned his crusade in
pursuit of his own self interests, Mully parted from him and he didn't go with her to fight the Colonists. But, realising her need, he eventually
abandoned his search to join her at the final hour. There he revealed that he had tricked the
Pipe Smoking Man all along, and still had the vaccine which he used to force the Colonist retreat. Despite causing his defeat, the Pipe Smoking
Man's dying words finally gave Sculder the location of his hamster's resting place. Sculder was able to finally end the search which had plagued him all his life and to rejoin forces with Mully for a singular purpose: fighting the Colonists and trying to save mankind.
