SHALLOW THROAT
Agent Sculder's most trusted advisor. A senior player in the Posh Club, the man only
referred to as Shallow Throat (due both to his gravelly voice and rumours in the
Washington DC red light district) chose to
break ranks and aid Sculder's search for the truth at the risk of his life. His in-depth
knowledge has proved an invaluable aid to both Sculder and Mully (who are, let's face
it, generally clueless.)
However, Shallow Throat may still have his own agenda (like getting a half decent
name) and has an irritating habit of speaking mostly in monotonous poetry.
Shallow Throat's insights have proved invaluable for Sculder. From the very case, his
warning probably saved the agent's life (The Pilot Episode) and had an active
hand in leading Sculder to the truth about the conspiracy over Roswell. (Shallow
Throat) However, unbeknownst to the agents, Shallow Throat was obeying the
orders of the Posh Club, both responsible for the death of their main suspect and also
the subsequent cover-up. Later, he approached Mully on another case with insights
which helped her to realise that the crimes in question were less suspicious then first
appeared (The Birds)
Shallow Throat was to pay dearly for his treachery to the Posh Club. After Mully
was abducted he arranged the deal to ensure her survival. However, the Posh Club
had learnt of his intentions and his decision to make the exchange proved to be fatal.
Shortly after making the exchange he
was shot dead. (Restoration). However, his
legacy lives on and his influence is undeniable since his death caused the closure of
the Hex Files (First Contact Lens) and his appearance as a guide to Sculder
in the spirit world has shown him to be one of the greatest allies the agents has both in
life and death. X-Files Equivalent: Deep Throat
