On The Day We Fall In Love

*****Would You Like To Be***
***Davy's Girl?***

from an article in the book The Dynamic Davy Jones by Tiger Beat

Here's what to do and what not to do!

DON'T chew your fingernails. Davy used to bite his nails and everytime he sees someone chewing theirs it reminds him of the bad habit he used to have.

DON'T chew gum. Chomping on gum is a give away to the groupie-looking dollies that Davy despises.

DON'T make jokes about his height. There's no denying Davy is loveable just the way he is; and he digs his height. But after all this time, he's heard every crack possible about being short, so there's just nothing clever or funny left to say.

DON'T act dumb. It's fine for a girl to be feminine, but if she acts completely helpless and so fragile Davy is afraid to even hug her, he won't bother asking her out.

DON'T wear too much make-up. Davy digs natural looking girls. He sees thick make-up on actresses all day long and certainly enjoys a fresh, clean face when he's not working.

DON'T dominate the conversation. Davy has said before that it isn't lady-like to blab on and on. However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't contribute your part to the conversation. He likes a girl with opinions.

DON'T be over-particular about things you want to do. Davy is so unpredictable, he may ask you out to dinner and then decide to go ice skating -- you just never know. The girl that's ready for anything and loves just about everything is the one he'll ask out twice.

DON'T smoke on the street. Smoking itself doesn't upset Davy. He just hates to see a girl standing on the street with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth.

DON'T put down other people. With all the traveling he's done and all the people he's met, Davy has learned that there is some good in everyone. It's good if you realize this, too.

DON'T talk about the Monkees too much. This is a part of Davy's life, but not all of it. There are so many things that interest this boy, other topics aren't that difficult to find.

DO be yourself at all times. After all his years in show business, Davy can spot a phony in a minute. Let him like you for you.

DO be a good listener. Davy never seems to be at a loss for words and the girls he's attracted to are interested in what he has to say.

DO wear mini-skirts (if they're right for your figure), because they knock Davy out!

DO be understanding. Davy's life is one filled with constant demands and any girl he dates must realize this.

DO be a good cook. He loves good food, especially steak, chips and fish. However, when he's in the mood to cook (which he enjoys) let him. Try fixing something together. He likes to share.

DO have clean, shiny hair. It's not unusual for Davy to spend hours brushing a bird's hair.

DO have a good sense of humor. There aren't many moments when Davy's not teasing or joking about something, so if you enjoy him, he'll enjoy your company all the more.

DO be as feminine as you can. He sees plenty of screaming, grabbing fans and those are not the kind he chooses for dates.

DO wear trouser suits (again, if they're right for you) because he loves them.

DO like Davy for Davy. When you become as big a star as he is, it's sometimes hard to tell real friends from those who like you just for your name, your fame, your position. There's so much in Davy to love, just love him for himself.

Many thanks to my dear friend Keedy who typed this up for me - Keedy you're the best!!
