The wind whipped passed her ears and the cold nipped at her body. She could hear Jason gun the engine and she could feel the speed increase. She unconsciously tightened her grip around Jason’s waist. Lately she wasn’t happy unless all she could hear was the wind and all she could feel was the speed. When the world would disappear. She liked not being able to think about anything else but the wind. Luckily Jason was kind enough to pick her up from work every now and then. She frowned as Jason slowed down and took the turn onto her street. He pulled the bike into her driveway and cut the engine. “Thanks again Jason.” Elizabeth said as she jumped off the bike and returned the helmet to Jason. “It was no problem.” Jason said with a small smile. “And thanks for listening to me dump my problems again.” She said slightly frustrated with herself. “You need to talk to someone Elizabeth and if it’s me, I’m fine with that.” “Thanks” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lucky was sitting at the table in his room intently studying the chessboard in front of him. He knew he was getting better but he was getting rather tired of playing himself all the time. Faison had left weeks ago and Lucky hadn’t seen him since. He had even asked the guards to play chess with him. He was that board. He couldn’t sit still because that would allow him time to think. Time to think about all the things he could be doing, all the things he was missing out on. Mostly he was thinking about all the people he was missing. His Dad, Luke would be going out of his mind right about now. His Mom, he was wondering how she was handling this. Lulu and Nikolas and Emily, but most of all he missed Elizabeth. They were supposed to have forever. That’s what they promised in the church. Some days Lucky would be determined to get out of this prison and get back to Elizabeth, but then he’d realize that that was hopeless. Faison would surely kill her if he even tried to escape. Lucky was stuck and he hated it. Somewhere in the depths of the building there was a rumble, like an explosion. This was followed by rounds and rounds of what sounded like machine gun fire. Lucky was griped by hope and fear at the same time. It could be his father finally coming, but Lucky reminded himself that that was impossible as the sound footsteps neared the door to his cell. The door hissed open and the hallway outside seemed to be filled with smoke. Four guys with machine guns came into the room and they looked like they were looking for hidden traps or something. All Lucky could do was stand there and stare; this was the last thing he expected to see. One of the men yelled into the hallway that the area was secure and a man came into the room. He looked like he was in his late thirties. He had dirty blond hair. He wore a dark suit and a trench coat; Lucky’s instincts were screaming “cop!” Lucky tensed as the man walked up to him. “Is the building secure? All the guards are dead?” The man said. “Yes sir.” Was the gruff reply from one of the gun-carrying men. The man turned to Lucky and smiled, but Lucky looked at him skeptically. “Nice to meet you Lucky Spencer.” The man said extending his hand. “Frisco Jones, WSB.” “Frisco?” Lucky asked in disbelief. “Yeah Lucky, it’s me. But we have to get out of here.” Frisco said leading Lucky out of the building and outside. Lucky saw a bunch of men carrying a body that looked eerily like himself into the building. Frisco saw Lucky staring at the body and smiled. “We figured we’d turn the tables on Faison and fake your death. He won’t think you’re dead, but he will think you’ve been kidnapped. He’ll see it wasn’t your father and the next person he’ll suspect is Helena.” Lucky frowned. “But if I’m home then he’ll automatically suspect my father and he’ll hurt my family.” Frisco gave a long sigh. “Lucky you’re not going home. As long as Faison is alive your family is in danger. With our plan Faison will blame Helena and Helena will blame Faison, with any luck they’ll take each other out. But at the very least one of them will be dead by the end.” “And what exactly is going to happen to me while your grand plan is going on.” Lucky said sarcastically. “Well, we could keep you by force, but we don’t want to do that. We think you’d make a pretty good agent, we wouldn’t be able to send you to the academy, but I would be willing to take you on as a partner of sorts. You’d be a WSB agent in no time.” Frisco said as he led Lucky into the back seat of a nondescript black car. Lucky looked at Frisco like he was out of his mind. “You can’t expect me to do this. I can’t stay away from my family, away from Elizabeth. Knowing that she’s a plane ride away, knowing that she’s somewhere thinking that I’m dead. Watching her move on when I know I could be with her. I can’t do that!” “Yes you can.” Came an Australian accented voice from the front seat of the car and the man turned around. “Because I did it.” “Robert?” Lucky said his eyes wide with amazement. “You’re lucky, you look like your mother.” Robert said his eyes shining with amusement. “Yeah that’s what my dad tells me.” Lucky said, still a little shocked that a dead man was talking to him. “Lucky you have a choice, you can either cooperate with us and become an agent. Or you can fight us on this and we can keep you by force.” Robert said seriously. At the thought of being locked up again Lucky’s stomach knotted. “Lucky, Robin and Mac both think I’m dead. It’s hard but it’s for their protection, if Faison knew I was alive he’d use them to get to me. The same way he’d use your family to get to you. This is something you have to do to put Faison away for good.” “Can’t you convict him for my kidnapping?” Lucky asked puzzled. “Kidnapping charges? He’d be out in five years. When we get Faison it’ll be for life.” Frisco said sharing a glance with Robert. They both knew that if Faison didn’t end up in prison, either of them would gladly kill him. “So Lucky, will you do it?” Robert asked. “It looks like I don’t have a choice.” Lucky said calmly. He’d do anything to keep his family and Elizabeth safe.

Five Years Later New York City
The young woman breathed heavily and clutched the sheet to her chest. Her skin was damp from sweat and the sheet clung to her skin. She turned her head and looked at the man lying beside her. “Oh Louie, I love you.” She gushed. She couldn’t have been older than 20, she still even had that idealistic look in her eyes. The man next to her felt bad that he was going to destroy that very soon. True he was only a few years older than she was, but he hadn’t felt idealistic in what seemed like an eternity. But he smiled and put his hand lovingly on her cheek. “Love ya too.” She grinned back at him. “I can’t believe how my life has changed since you came into it. You saved me from that mugger three months ago and now you’re one of Daddy’s most trusted employees. Not to mention my true love.” Francesca Vechio, Frannie to her father, had been sheltered most of her life, sent to boarding schools to avoid the danger of her father’s business in New York. She was always “Daddy’s little girl” and when Louie had saved her, he was instantly in Raymond Vechio’s good graces. “Well I’ve definitely been lucky.” Louie said with a devilish grin.

Sly Eckert drove through the streets of Port Charles for what seemed like the first time in years, actually that was exactly what it was. He hadn’t even come back when his cousin had died. He had been out of the country when it happened and then the timing just never seemed right to come back. He was in town now because his employer had sent Sly to Port Charles to take care of business before he arrived. He didn’t know how he felt about coming back. Lots of things had changed, including him. He pulled his ’65 Mustang convertible onto the road that led towards Kelly’s, He figured that was the best place to start. Just then a black motorcycle raced past him, cut him off, and almost hit him. Sly swerved and he stopped his car just before he hit a telephone pole. He immediately pulled his car back onto the road and sped off to follow the motorcycle. To his surprise the bike pulled into the parking lot at Kelly’s. Sly parked his car quickly stalked towards the motorcycle intending to chew the rider out thoroughly. “Are you crazy or something!? You could have killed me!” He screamed. The rider stepped away from the bike and took off the helmet. Her long brown hair fell to her shoulders and she put the helmet on the back of the bike. Sly’s mouth dropped to the ground as her took her in. He hadn’t expected a woman, certainly not one this beautiful. She looked like the perfect biker chick. Leather jacket, black T-shirt, and ripped jeans. “What were you saying?” She asked clearly annoyed at the situation. “You… you almost killed me.” Sly stammered. “Well maybe you should look before you pull out in front of someone.” She said and she walked away. Sly groaned in frustration and followed her. By the time he caught up with her they in the courtyard in front of Kelly’s. “Well maybe you were going too fast to see me!” He shouted. She turned around with her eyes flashing. “I was not going too fast, you weren’t looking where you were driving!” “My driving is just fine!” “You could’ve fooled me.” She said pushing her way into the restaurant, Sly followed her. “Why are you following me?” She said irritated. “I wasn’t, I was coming in here anyway.” She looked at him strangely. “Sly Eckert, is that you?” Came a voice from behind the counter. Sly grinned. “Hi Aunt Bobbie. What are you doing here, I thought you were a nurse?” “Smart mouth kid” she muttered as she walked over to give him a hug. “What brings you back?” “I had a little business.” Sly said vaguely. Bobbie looked at him skeptically. “Hmm… well I see you’ve met my best waitress.” “I don’t even work for you anymore Bobbie, and even then I certainly wasn’t your best waitress.” She said laughing. “Yes you were and anyway you’re practically family. Sly Eckert meet Elizabeth Webber.”

“Ahh… Louie, Thank you for coming so quickly.” Ray Vechio said when the young man had entered the penthouse. “It’s not a problem for me, but Francesca wasn’t very happy.” Louie said smiling devilishly. Ray laughed. “She’ll probably make me pay for it in the morning. I’ll have the credit card bill of a life time!” Both men chuckled. “Well, sir tell me what you need me for so I can get home to Francesca. I assume it is something important if you called me so late.” “You’re right about that.” Ray said frowning. “A tip came in that the WSB’s been sniffing around my operation.” “Is it a reliable source?” Louie asked, knowing full well that it was. The WSB had gone to great lengths to plant that rumor. “Pretty reliable, so I had the shipment moved just to be safe.” “Sounds like you have it covered, why did you send for me?” Louie said concealing his pleasure very well. “The problem is that I haven’t heard back from the foreman to confirm that the shipment has been received.” Ray said frowning. “Surely we would have heard something if there had been a problem.” “I would think so, but I can’t help but be worried.” “I’m sure it’s just a regular delay.” “You’re probably right.” Then there was loud shouting and the sounds of a scuffle could be heard from outside. Louie stepped protectively in front of Ray as the door was busted in. At least twenty men filtered into the room shouting a chorus of “Freeze WSB!” They restrained both Louie and Ray, with both men resisting heavily. “You have the right to remain silent…” One of the officers started to say. “What are the charges!?” Ray shouted. “We caught your shipment, it’s over Ray.” Came a voice from the doorway. “Jones! I should have known it would be you.” Ray said disdainfully. Frisco shook his head and spoke condescendingly. “You screwed up Ray. You should know better than to move a shipment prematurely.” “How did you do it?” Ray asked knowing he was already going to jail for a very long time. Frisco shrugged. “A guy’s go to have his secrets.” And with that the agent led Vechio out the door. Frisco turned to look at Louie and smiled at the officer holding him. “You can let him go Agent Rains.” Frisco walked over and smiled. “Well done Agent Spencer.” |
