BACK TO
THE FUTURE PART II
|

|
|
Trivia:
Did you know that...? Here is
a list of curious facts about the movie and some
interesting details to look for the next time you
watch it!
Crispin
Glover played George McFly in Back to the
Future, but in Part II he was replaced by
Jeffrey Weissman. Weissman was made up
just to look like Glover so that the film
could incorporate scenes from the
previous one.
However,
Glover had not granted permission for the
reuse of his scenes, and decide to sue
the executive producer, Steven Spielberg.
The suit was settled, and since then the
Screen Actors Guild introduced new rules
about illicit use of actors.
In the
film, a movie theatre advertises
"Jaws 19", directed by Max
Spielberg. Steven Spielberg, who directed
Jaws, has a son called Max.
Elisabeth
Shue was cast as Jennifer, and all the
closing scenes of "Back to the
Future" were reshot for the
beginning of this film. There were some
rumours that Claudia Wells (who played
Jennifer in the previous movie) was in no
condition to act any more.
When
Marty arrives in 2015, he looks at the
window of an antique store, where there
can be seen the jacket that he wore in
1985, a Roger Rabbit doll and a
"Jaws" Nintendo game.
("Who Framed Roger Rabbit" was
also directed by Robert Zemeckis).
The two
police officers in 2015 are named Reese
and Foley. Zemeckis and screenwriter Bob
Gale use these names for any police or
government agents in the films they have
written.
The
double and triple exposures in the film
were shot with the Vistaglide system, a
computerized camera that allows actors to
more easily interact with themselves
while playing several roles in the same
scene. The system was first used in
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
In the
alternate 1985, there is a sign (very
difficult to read) in front
of the Biff Tannen Museum that says
"Smoking Required."

Deleted
Scenes Here are some
deleted scenes (which fans like me hope to see on
a collector's edition DVD) which were cut out
from the final film:
- Biff
finally disappears of 2015 when he
stumbles out of the DeLorean, behind some
trash cans, the same symptom that Marty
had in Back to the Future when he was
beginning to be "erased".
- When
Marty goes back to 1985, he discovers
that Hill Valley High School is
destroyed.
