Tied Down Written by Rocket Gal
This story is rated: Um, I'd say PG13. It's part of a set that started out as PG13 so I guess that's the way it should be. Before reading this story you must have read: If Only, Hanging On, Who's That Cute Doctor?, A Change for the Bitter, Just Like Old Times, Sorta, and Butch and Cassidy Catastrophe, Salon Rocket Reopened, and Malicious Medical
Even though she had a tube in her arm, Jessie still went to work at the salon. She refused to just stay at home. Back at the apartment James and she shared, they had just finished dinner and were in the living room. "Jessie, you look really worn out," James told her. Jessie turned around and looked at him. "And who says men don't compliment anymore?" she said with a raised eyebrow. "I'm not saying it to be mean!" James defended. "I know you're not," she replied. "I just don't want to you to get sick again!" he explained. "It's a little late for that," she said, indicating her arm. "You know what I mean," James defended once more. Jessie crossed over to him and squeezed his hand. "Of course I do, dear. And I love you for it," she assured him. "So why are you pushing yourself?" he asked her. She grunted, "James, I'm not the type of person that just lays down and dies." James narrowed his eyes and shook his head, "You're not gonna die, Jess!" Jessie snapped her head back in his direction and looked at him. "Well, I might as well!" she screamed, "Look at me! I can hardly move my arm! I can't pick things up! I need help eating! I get tired just from siting around! I can't do my hair!" "I can do that for you, Jess," James offered. "But that's the point! I don't want to have someone do everything for me!" she yelled. James looked at her. "I didn't know I was just a someone," he said quietly. Jessie looked back at him. She had hurt him. She went closer to him, and raised her good arm up to his face. She held his face, "Sweetie, you are more than just someone, you're my everything." He believed her, "Then let me help you." He reached down and took hold of her hands. He began bend them up towards his heart, but he bent the iv arm too far and Jessie screamed in pain. James immediately let go of her so scared and guiltily that he caused her more pain. She tried to recover and looked at his face. She saw how much that had traumatized him. "Damn it!" she yelled, angry at her condition. "The only kinds of lines I ever wanted on my body, were ones that made me look good in a swim suit!" James, trying to shack off his scare and make her feel better, "Jess, the iv isn't that big a deal." "Yes it is!" Jessie insisted, "It's what it means!" "What does it mean?" James inquired. "That I need help," she replied, "That I'm not able to take care of myself!" James shaking his head, "You know that's not true!" "Isn't it?" she asked. "If I could take care of myself, I wouldn't need this-" waves hand at iv, "this lifeline. I just-" She turns away but James came from behind. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders and hugged her. She stopped and bent her good arm up to hold onto one of his. "I just-" she began again as she turned around to face him. She looked into his eyes. She then leaned her head against his chest, and sighed sadly. "Is it really that bad?" James asked Jessie, as the two began to slowly rock back and forth. "I don't know," she replied quietly, "I just feel like the Bionic Woman!" James smiled to himself. "Hmmm," he thought, "Lindsay Wagner, she was pretty hot!" Jessie leans back and gives him a look. She sits down on the couch. "Oh, but nothing compared to you, of course!" James added as he sat down next to her. "James?" she asked him. "Hmmm?" he asked as he put his arms around her again. "Will you-help me?" she asked quietly, as she leaned her head against his chest. "Just say the word and I'll be there," James assured her. He hugged her close and sighed. "I love you so much, Jessie." He looked down at her, "Jessie?" She was asleep. James leaned back, and laid her down on the couch along with him. He held her close, being careful of her impaired arm.
