Once ago, there was a young woman who watched her hometown of Cirra torched and her family slaughtered before her eyes. The woman survived to avenge her family's death by murdering the woman responsible for the massacre, by murdering Xena. This woman is Callisto. |

|
|
Callisto formed a small army and began raiding villages in the name of Xena. Soon, Xena found out and imprisoned the Warrior Queen. However, soon after, callisto escaped her confinement and tormented Xena once again by killing Gabrielle's husband, Perdicas. The Warrior Princess and Callisto faced off in a chariot race which eventually landed them in a pool of quicksand. Xena pulled herself from under and allowed Callisto to die. But that was not the end. |

Callisto once again returned when she and Ares allied. Using Xena's guilt for allowing Callisto's death, it enabled Callsito to escape from the underworld through Xena's body. Xena convinced Hades to release her to return Callisto to Tartarus, and he gave gher one day. Xena defeated the Warrior Queen by using guilt for past crimes and saved her village from a fiery death. However, Xena was still trapped in Callisto's body. Eventually, Callisto's body was returned to her when Xena helped Ares regain his Godhood. |

Later, Callisto was commisioned by Hera, the Queen of the Gods, to destroy Hercules. Callisto posioned his family knowing that the only way to save them was with the nourishment of a golden apple from the Tree of Life. This way she could kill him after the journey to retrieve the apples from some caverns and be able to eat one, causing immortality. She did end up eating an apple; however, Hercules lived and trapped her for eternity in the caverns.... So it would seem. |

Callisto was again freed, when Xena needed to use her to fight another immortal, Velasca. Xena enticed Callisto to commit to the offer by promising the Warrior Queen Ambrosia, the food of the Gods. Callisto agreed and when battling Velasca, devoured the Ambrosia, making herself a god. |
