YRU-Up, One Man's View

As you may all know, that even though YRU-Up is a Minnesota show, I’m currently living in Hollywood. And I’m sure you all also know what goes on in Hollywood? That’s right, it’s the home of Fox Television. The other day I was walking down the walk of fame when none other then Darran Star, the creator of Melrose Place, stopped me. Now I was as shocked as anyone to have him tell me I had the right look to have a part on an upcoming episode.

Well, needless to say I took up Darren on his offer. I’m sure willing to be an hunk/actor on the side of my writing. Well, he took me in his black limo right to the set in Burbank. There I met the cast and got my shooting script. I was to play Derk Stuart. He’s Alyssa Milano’s ex-lover come to win her back. In the mean time I make the rounds to the rest of the female cast.

It was a demanding role, I must tell you. Heather Locklear really isn’t the bitch she plays on the show. We went and had coffee after shooting. She regaled me with stories of her and William Shatner back on T.J. Hooker. I never know he was color-blind. She even picked up the check knowing I was but a struggling actor/writer.

I get in some hot water

It was a full day I have to tell you. I made a lot of friends today. Though I’m not supposed to say anything, I’ll tell you one thing. My character’s not the nice guy he seems to be. Though the episode doesn’t air till Jan 3, I was able to get some screen shots so check those out. Well, peace until next week.
