Monday, March 30th, Scott was online and chatting with fans @ Talk City's "Talk City Presents". I was impressed to find a lot of excellent questions asked, and was not dissapointed. I attended the chat and my nickname was Lena_1.

ScottV: I haven't really heard anything about that.
ScottV: I guess there may always be the chance, but nobody's talked about it yet.

ScottV: Maybe I'll get luck in the future and be able to do a movie for them!
ScottV: A work day, right now, means doing a lot of auditions,
ScottV: and working on things for my acting class.
ScottV: Since I'm not actually working on Breaker High anymore,
ScottV: I'm doing a lot of auditioning

ScottV: I started acting on the recommendation of a friend
ScottV: who then also helped meet an agent in Vancouver,
ScottV: and helped with my move and everything.
ScottV: I had one line on the Greg Louganis Story - Breaking the Surface (a movie for
ScottV: Showtime, I believe)

ScottV: It's helped me to meet a lot of people that
ScottV: I probably never would have met, and it's
ScottV: just allowed me to learn more about myself -
ScottV: that's really how it's changed my life.

ScottV: I believe there is - I don't have the URL handy though.. maybe we
ScottV: can find that for you before we're done.
Questions: oscarnighters says: do you only work or do you also go to school? Or have you finished school?
ScottV: I've finished school now, so at the moment
ScottV: I'm just working.
Questions: carrie says: What sports do you enjoy playing, or watching?
ScottV: Love playing football, hockey, and I like
ScottV: watching them as well!
ScottV: In hockey, I'm a fan of the Edmonton Oilers, but I just
ScottV: enjoy following the game in football.

ScottV: Yeah, the cast is great!
ScottV: We all get along well - the guys are like
ScottV: my brothers, and the girls are like my sisters;
ScottV: it's like a big family, and it's such a fun show to do!

ScottV: Yeah! It would be great!
ScottV: There is actually a school that's based on a boat,
ScottV: called Semester At Sea, so I guess some people get to do it!
Questions: wannaknow says: Who has had the greatest influence on your career, and on your life?
ScottV: My mother and father.
ScottV: They're huge supporters of what I'm doing.
ScottV: I owe so much of who I am - I just owe everything to them. :-)
Questions: zither says: If you couldn't be an actor, what would you like to do most?
ScottV: I haven't really thought about that much,
ScottV: because I like to think positively.
ScottV: I don't really know what I would do if I wasn't acting right now!
Questions: lenore says: Do you and the other cast members get together? What do you do when you hang out?
ScottV: A lot of us will do stuff when we're not working...
ScottV: it just depends on who you're with what you end up doing.
ScottV: Sometimes we'll go to movies,
ScottV: some of the people I'll go to the gym and work out with
Questions: scotttoo says: How does your work schedule go? Are you off for big chunks of time?
ScottV: sometimes we'll go to dinner. It just varies with everybody
ScottV: I'm off now, because we're not shooting the show,
ScottV: but we had a pretty hectic schedule.
ScottV: Some days we'd be in at 6 in the morning,
ScottV: and out at 9 at night.
ScottV: It varies, but we basically work 5 days a week.
ScottV: It was very, very hectic; very crazy.
Questions: jtwentworth says: Do you find your personal time limited more now that you are doing bigger things?
ScottV: Very much so. Lately I haven't had a lot of free time
ScottV: to myself.
Questions: cryptic says: What do you consider as the highlight of your career so far?
ScottV: Breaker High has been the highlight so far -
ScottV: because it was so much fun to do! :-)
Questions: bt says: What was the greatest obstacle you have had to over come so far?
ScottV: I think the greatest obstacle I've personally
ScottV: had to overcome was being away from friends and family.
ScottV: And you're all asking great questions! :-)
Questions: parkbench says: Do really feel the issues you deal with on the episodes are relevant to today's youth? If so, can you tell us what episode you thought the most hard hitting?
ScottV: I think some of the issues that were touched on are
ScottV: relevant to today's youth, but the main thing that you have
ScottV: to remember about Breaker High is that although we do try
ScottV: to touch on those issues, really the show is entertainment.
ScottV: As for which shows and which issues, I don't think I could
ScottV: choose just one. Every episode touches on something,
ScottV: even if it's really subtle in how we deal with it.
ScottV: But the main purpose of the show, is entertainment.
Questions: carebear2 says: is it true that you played a couple of games for the Edmonton wildcats?
ScottV: I played a couple of seasons with the Edmonton Wildcats!
ScottV: I was actually one of the Captains, as well. :-)

ScottV: His individuality.
ScottV: He doesn't feel the need to be part of a crowd,
ScottV: or a follower. He does his own thing.

ScottV: Sure, I think I have some similarities..
ScottV: I like to try to keep my individuality as well -
ScottV: I'm not a crowd-follower. Max is a stubborn and
ScottV: headstrong person, and I am as well.
Questions: jill says: would you ever like to direct something?
ScottV: I'd love to!
ScottV: At this point I don't feel that I know enough to do a good
ScottV: job at directing, but I'd definitely like to do that in the future.
ScottV: I need to learn more about the skills of acting before
ScottV: I start directing as well.
Questions: minorthreat says: Have you been able to meet any of your role models since acting
ScottV: I don't necessarily know if I have any role models
ScottV: with regards to acting. There actors who are very talented,
ScottV: and whose work I enjoy watching.
ScottV: But as to whether they're role models.. I guess the answer is no.
Questions: tipper says: you are such a great actor and seem to really enjoy your work, do you think that you will continue acting your whole life?
ScottV: I sure hope I do!

ScottV: My hobbies used to be sports and anything like that.
ScottV: At this point I don't really have a lot of time for hobbies..
ScottV: I've been doing some reading lately.. I like to play
ScottV: Nintendo 64 with my friends - but I don't have a lot of free time lately.

ScottV: It works out to be around once every three or four months.
ScottV: Sometimes more, but it averages out.

ScottV: I wouldn't change places with anyone!

ScottV: I don't think I'm famous.. far from it. :-)
ScottV: But when I started the show, some people started to pretend
ScottV: like they were. Some seemed to think that they knew me better,
ScottV: and maybe tried to take advantage of that.
ScottV: But I always knew who my real friends were.
Questions: tipper says: if you could be on any sitcom that is on TV now, besides the one that you are on, which one would it be and why?
ScottV: Hmm.. Seinfeld!
ScottV: The cast that they have on Seinfeld is an incredible one,
ScottV: and it's going off the air soon. It would be near
ScottV: ..neat to say I got to do an episode of Seinfeld.
Questions: zoe_girl says: are you planning to be acting in any other shows?
ScottV: I'm not really planning on it. I hope to be.
ScottV: I have to get out there and audition, and if I can earn
ScottV: the parts on another show, then great!
Questions: tipper says: I'm sure like most of Hollywood that you watched the Academy Awards this year. Do you ever dream of being one of those actors nominated for an Oscar?
ScottV: I don't necessarily dream. I watch the Academy Awards,
ScottV: and I hope that one day I might be fortunate enough
ScottV: to be at the level of those actors.
ScottV: Yeah, I'd love to be there, but it takes a lot of hard work!
Questions: lena_1 says: Seeing as Breaker High is cancelled, if it was renewed and they asked you to come back, would you?
ScottV: That would depend on what's happening at the time.
ScottV: It would depend on which cast came back, and also
ScottV: if I wasn't working on something else. If I had other
ScottV: commitments it might be difficult.
ScottV: I'd definitely consider it though!
Questions: beaches says: In the episode where Max was drawing on the walls of the ship, was that really your drawings?
ScottV: No, I'm afraid they weren't!

ScottV: It's a very hard career on an actor mentally.
ScottV: You have to be able to deal with a lot of rejection,
ScottV: a lot of hard work. I don't mind the hard work - but you
ScottV: do have to be prepared to deal with a lot of rejection.

ScottV: If that's what they want to do, I would definitely recommend
ScottV: it, but you have to be sure that's what you want to do!

ScottV: I've had a lot, so I don't think I necessarily have any
ScottV: favorite co-stars. :-)

ScottV: No, that's not true. I don't know where that came
ScottV: from, but no, I was never in a band. :-)

ScottV: As far as I know, the air date is this fall,
ScottV: airing on NBC this fall! Tune in and you'll see who I'm playing. :-)

ScottV: I could be really deep and talk about the world and all that,
ScottV: but the one wish that I can have a family like the family I have.

ScottV: I'd like to be able to accomplish what my parents accomplished.
ScottV: No - it's all done in studio!
ScottV: Some of the opening title sequence is on a cruise ship though.
Questions: tipper says: if you could work with any actor or actress in the business, who would you choose and why?
ScottV: There are too many talented actors to pick just one!

ScottV: The Hockey episode is still my favorite!

ScottV: Yes. There have been a couple lately...
ScottV: There was a role to play a hockey player in a David E. Kelley

ScottV: movie, and I didn't get it. But that's life. :-)
ScottV: Lots and lots of auditions! I think there
ScottV: were five or six auditions for Breaker High in total.
Questions: jill says: did you thing the show would have this much success when you first started?
ScottV: When I first started, I didn't really think about how
ScottV: successful this show would be. I was just concentrating mainly
ScottV: on doing the best job I could - and I'd leave the rest up
ScottV: to the powers that be.
Questions: carebear2 says: is it hard to go to busy places (i.e. west end etc.) and not be recognized/ maintain your privacy?
ScottV: I don't really get recognized all that much. I am recognized
ScottV: a little bit, but not as much as everyone would think.
ScottV: I get to lead a relatively normal life still. :-)

ScottV: Not unless you count grade school plays!

ScottV: Stay close to your family, and always remember where you came from.
ScottV: Always keep yourself open to learn more.

ScottV: I'm hoping to! Right now I don't know when my schedule
ScottV: is going to let me, but the sooner I can get home

ScottV: the better, so I can see my family and my friends again.
ScottV: Not at this point, no. I've been looking into possibly doing
ScottV: some charity work. I'm not sure what I want to do with that; where I
ScottV: can do the most good, so I can't really say yet.

ScottV: Very important. There are so many different ways you
ScottV: can have. It gives you a foundation for the future.
ScottV: Regardless of whether you feel you're learning or not, you're learning
ScottV: to learn. And that's the basis for everything you do in life.

ScottV: If you see me, it's news to me! :-)
ScottV: I don't know anything about that right now.

ScottV: TV was a great medium for me. It gave me a chance to gain
ScottV: a lot of valuable experience, and to have a good time while doing it!

ScottV: There hasn't been a lot of funny stuff happen to me..
ScottV: But, when we finished the last episode of Breaker High,
ScottV: we all decided to jump into the pool with all our clothes
ScottV: on, and we were throwing people in the pool! :-)

ScottV: I guess it's pretty evenly among the group, actually.

ScottV: The band members are friends of mine, but even if they
ScottV: weren't friends, I've heard their new album, and it's great!

ScottV: The best piece of advice I've ever been given applies both
ScottV: to acting, and the rest of life: if you put your mind to something
ScottV: you can accomplish it. A bit of a cliche, but anything's possible.

ScottV: I don't really like to think about negatives;

ScottV: of, and it's very minor, is a small amount of jealousy.

ScottV: worked for my father's company. I even worked at McDonalds! :-)
