Eugene Robert Glazer

glazer as operations

Eugene Robert Glazer stars as Operations in LA FEMME NIKITA, the original action drama which premiered January 1997 on the USA Network. Operations is the ultimate intelligence bureaucrat; he runs Section One, designs the missions, liaisons with the few people in government who know of the Section's existence, and makes "personnel" decisions...including who should live and who should die.

A native New Yorker, Glazer was born and raised in Brooklyn with his older brother. His adolescence was molded more by a normal love of football and women than any interest in the performing arts. Acting was something he thought of from time to time but never as a career he had any intention of pursuing...until one very hot New York summer day when he was working on Wall Street, trading over-the-counter securities. He realized he just could not do the daily 9 to 5 grind any longer. His father helped him land his first acting job, pointing out an ad for a dinner theater audition. Acting ever since, he credits his father with jump-starting his career.

Glazer worked many odd jobs, including driving a taxi, waiting tables and construction work before moving to Los Angeles in the early 70s. He started getting roles in theater and has appeared in productions of Dylan (as Dylan Thomas), The Crucible, Lunchtime and, most recently, Staccato, directed by Ron Link. His first television role was in an episode of Quincy and his first co-starring role was in an episode of Charlie's Angels. Other television credits include recurring roles in the Lifetime series E.N.G., on General Hospital, and in movies of the week Golden Will: The Silken Laumann Story, Women of Windsor and The Substitute with Amanda Donahoe.

Glazer recently completed production on the film Skeletons with Ron Silver. A veteran of Eddie Murphy's directorial debut, Harlem Nights, Glazer also was featured in Stepping Out with Liza Minnelli and Shelley Winters, Hollywood Shuffle with Keenan Ivory Wayans and Damon Wayans and The Five Heartbeats, among others.

He and his wife, actress Brioni Farrell, live in California when LA FEMME NIKITA is not in production to be near their two grandchildren. An avid gardener, Glazer loves to cook and enjoys carpentry and writing. He is currently gathering research for a screenplay on prisoners of war missing in action. Sharp eyes will notice his character, Operations, wearing a POW/MIA pin on LA FEMME NIKITA.
