Looney Tunes Newsletter 29-Sep-98

Hi Everyone,
This newsletter will begin some new changes. Now you will be able to see pictures of a lot of the items we list. We will have an HTML version online on the LT Express that will show thumbnails that you can click to view a larger picture of the items. You can access this newsletter(and older ones) from links on the Locomotive page or the Caboose page.We are also about 1/4 done moving the clipart over. We are still having problems getting the Email javascript to work on all browsers so that is probably going to be put on hold until I can get some help from a real programmer :) We will just offer zip files until we figure this out.

If you see any new items in stores, have any other news or would like to submit something to the newsletter please email it to me so I can spread the word!
Thanks,
Richard

Seen in Stores

-Lovables fans you are in luck! The new Tyco stuff is showing up now. Toys-r-us has a lot of them. A radio controlled Baby Marvin(in a saucer)or Baby Bugs(in a dune buggy) at $24.99(we bought the Marvin one and like it-we use it to play with our cat. It is a baby's toy though so it is fairly slow but really simple to operate). They also have a new set of 6 2" rubber squeeze toys-$6.99, a set of 4 musical pals-$9.99, and some small jingle bell plushes-$4.99. If they get the rest of this line in there are about 15-20 items total and most of them are really cute.
-Targets' has some childrens mittens in at $5.99. They have Tweety and Taz and are made of polyester "parachute" type fabric.
-Walmarts' has a set of Tweety childrens bed sets and bath stuff(including a shower curtain). They are all dark blue background.-Thanks to Michelle for the tip!
-Walmarts' has a Taz childs chair. We saw this at the Super Walmarts down south and didn't get the price on it but it was very cute. It is a plush style one.
-Walmarts' has the new Matrix Christmas ornaments out. There are 12 again this year at $4.99
each. Tweety & Sylvester playing on a cuckoo clock, Taz in baseball gear on a locker, Bugs on a roll of film, Santa Bugs in front of a fireplace, Bugs with a huge carrot in a stocking, Bugs and Lola in a heart shaped wreath, Marvin riding a silver rocket, Marvin in front of a computer terminal(it has a scene that lights up when you push a bulb in through the back), Marvin riding a fireworks rocket, Taz as a policeman in a car, Taz as a reindeer with gifts, and Pepe Le Pew smelling flowers on top of a watering can.
-Walmarts' and Targets' have Halloween yard signs, large and small. They also have some small corrugated plastic ones that you can hang on the side of the house or a similar place. Prices are from $2.99-$6.99 and they have Bugs, Taz, Tweety and Sylvester.

Looney News

-I received an email saying that the WB Studio Store's Collectors Guild is shutting down. I haven't talked to anyone from the stores yet to verify this but it isn't a good sign. They really need to put together something to encourage collectors. Instead it seems like they keep trying to scare them off. It would be nice to see them come up with something for the average collector. I think that is why the guild never built up a membership, things were just to pricey for someone who isn't a hardcore collector.
-PEZ is bringing out a series of motorized dispensers. I haven't seen any of them around here but I have been told that Toys-R-Us carries them elsewhere and that they are $2.99 each.
-QVC runs a LT show at the end of every month. It comes on twice on the last saturday of the month. To find the schedule go to
http://www.qvc.com/newpggd.html and select the date you want to check and enter Warner in the Search field.-Thanks to Michelle for the tip!
-Ashton-Drake Galleries has a line of 4 dolls with clothes featuring the characters. They have Tweety(this one has been in newspaper ads), Bugs, Taz and Sylvester. Their customer service number is 1-800-346-2460.-Thanks to Michelle for the tip!
-Seventh Avenue has some items in their Fall catalog. A leather jacket with Bugs on the front and 9 characters in squares on the back-$299. They also have car mats that you can have personalized. There are 4 different ones-Bugs & Daffy, Tweey & Sylvester, Taz, and Marvin. From $42-$45. Their number is 1-608-242-1001. -Thanks to Michelle for the tip!
