"The Cat Ate the Rat" . . . After autopsying the deceased pooch, the veterinarian offered the cause of death to Mulder and Scully. "I have to run a full toxicological to be sure, but it looks like morphrine poisoning."
"Morphrine?" Scully questioned.
"Rat poison," explained the vet.
"Someone fed this dog rat poison?" Mulder asked incredulously. Who would feed a dog rat poison? his question implied in dismay.
"No," the doctor shook his head, "when I dissected the dog's stomach, I found an undigested fragment of intestine which appears to be feline."
Scully nodded her head slightly, "the dog ate a cat." The vet nodded, and continued, "I also found what appears to be rat fur. I think the rat ate the poison."
"Cat ate a rat," Scully concluded.
"Dog ate the cat," Mulder added and the two agents shared an amused look of mutual distaste.
