An Ode to Michael J. Fox

Michael

On the day of June 9, 1961,
Two proud parents gave birth to a son,
The little boy's name was Michael Andrew,
And by looking at the child no one knew
The great future in store for this lad
Including the moments both good and bad.
At the age of six, hockey was his game;
In this sport he was certain to seek fame.
There was one problem--he was just too short
To play pro in Michael's favorite sport!
A high school teacher had persuaded Mike
To try out something new that he might like.
So he jumped into the field of acting,
Hoping that his body was not lacking
That one talent which was needed to be
A famous star on movies and T.V.
His drama teacher told him he would be
Great for the new series "Leo and Me".
They were looking for a bright ten-year-old,
And Mike looked that young he was often told.
So he tried out for it and got the part!
And this brilliant move was only the start
To the wonderful life ahead of him.
To succeed, Michael needed to be slim.
He was too big around for his short height,
So he lost the weight to make his life right.
He quit high school at the age of fifteen,
Seeing how irrelevant learning seemed.
At eighteen, Michael moved to Hollywood
To seek out his fortune and bring him good.
Michael found life to be too tough for him
Until he was requested to be in
Many a film, movie and T.V. show,
Which matured him and made his young mind grow.
In '82, Michael got a surprise.
He was asked to star in "Family Ties".
It came to be the most-watched comedy
In the decade of 1980.
This is where he gained his greatest success,
Doing what Michael most enjoyed the best.
In '84, Michael became cuter
And won the role in "Back to the Future".
He starred in many movies after that
And still is in the "Family Ties" pack.
Mike is still rising up into the world,
And he seems to be getting all the girls!
His girlfriend on T.V. is Courteney Cox.
Of course, he's the famous Michael J. Fox!

I am hoping that soon I can update this poem due to the fact that a lot of things have happened in Michael's life since 1987! Just thought the fans would enjoy reading what I have done!
