Lina Inverse:

Voice actress: Megumi Hayashibara
Age: 16 years (during Slayers Next)

The heroine of this story, she's a heretic genius who is known as everything from "robbers killer" to "someone even a dragon wouldn't mess with." Her skill with a sword is also above average. Lina's audacity and extreme talent get her mixed up in all kinds of trouble. With "Villains have no rights" as her motto, she likes to attack bands of robbers and steal their money. Her only weak point is her physical development, which is pretty poor. Her specialty is "DRAGON SLAVE," this world's most powerful incantation. (Description taken from a Slayers Next pencil board; pretty accurate except for the fact that Dragon Slave is not necessarily the most powerful spell in the world... Lina does, however, specialize in black magic and this spell in particular.) A cute Fireball-Throwing sorceress who steals from the wicked and gives to....herself!!! :D

Gourry Gabriev:

a handsome but dumb-as-a-rock swordsman. :)

Voice actor: Yasunori Matsumoto
Age: about 22 years

Lina's trusty sidekick and self-imposed bodyguard. Although he's not too bright, his skill with the sword is pretty much unmatched. He also possesses the legendary "hikari no ken" ("light sword"), an item Lina often tries to steal or "persuade" him to give to her.

Zelgadiss Graywords (Graywars, Greywers):

Voice actor: Hikaru Midorikawa Age: about 18 years

Skilled in magic as well as with the sword, his body was turned to stone by Rezo. Has been searching for a way to turn his body back to normal ever since.

Ameria Wil Tesla Saillune:

Voice actress: Masami Suzuki Age: about 15 years

The princess of Sailoon. Also a mage, but not as good as Lina or Zelgadiss. Although she dreams of being a hero, she is very awkward and clumsy, yet very enthusiastic.

Aka Houshi Rezo:

Voice actor: Takehito Koyasu

"The red priest." A very powerful mage; in some types of magic, even more powerful than Lina. He is known for his good deeds throughout the land. However, he was blind from birth, and thus seeks to find a way to cure this blindness. His research eventually leads him to the darker magics and ultimately the revival of Shaburanigudu.

Fillionel El Di Saillune (Fil Ouji):

Voice actor: Masahiro Yasunishi

Ameria's father and Prince of Saillune. Physically very big and powerful. Dotes on his daughter; overall, their personalities are very similar.

Zangulus Voice actor: Bin Shimada

Shilfiell Nels Rada:

Voice actress: Yumi Touma

A priestess. An expert in "Chiryou" and "Bougyokei no Shiro-mahou" (Healing and Defensive White Magic), she's also the only one powerful enough in "Shiro-mahou" to cast Resurrection. However, her offensive magic skills are quite weak, at least in the beginning.
