Seven disparate men, each with his own agenda, come together with a
common goal- justice. Coming from vastly different backgrounds and troubled
by the dark secrets in their past, these seven men are brought together
by a shared experience of violence and tragedy. Chance brought these
Magnificent Seven together; circumstances keep them together, as they
face the violence of the burgeoning West.
In the premiere episode, a Seminole Indian village
is torn apart when a band of ex-confederate soldiers arrives in search
of gold. The soldiers take control of the village and force the Indians
to dig for gold in a nearby mine. Miles away, in a dusty saloon town,
two newcomers, Chris Larabee and Vin Tanner, witness the attempted lynching
of a former slave, Nathan Jackson. Saving his life at the last minute,
Chris and Vin win the admiration of widowed newspaper editor Mary Travis,
who also witnessed the incident.
Meeting later in the local saloon, Chris, Vin and
Nathan are approached for help by the chief of the embattled Seminole
tribe, offering all the gold his tribe has. Chris agrees to hire the
seven men for one week and puts together a motley crew including his
friend Buck, the town's ladies man; an ex-priest, Josiah, who would
rather re-build his church; Ezra, a con man, and JD, a young man eager
for some excitement. Together, this group of unlikely heroes returns
to the Indian village to face the enemy.
