AMANDA keeps her eyes on CHRIS, anger seeping from her eyes. He decides to try and diffuse the situation.

CHRIS
Amanda, it's not that I don't want to get to the bottom of this...I just don't want you getting your hopes up and us leading up to a dead end. That's all.

Amanda softens slightly.

AMANDA
I know. I just want to get going on this. I want us to have a concrete ending.

CHRIS
We might not get that. You have to be prepared.

AMANDA
You're right. But I'd still like to get down to the Thayer Gallery to see for myself. Are you coming with me?

CHRIS
Of course I'm coming with you.

He walks to the door and opens it.

CHRIS
After you, milady.

Amanda smiles at him, and they leave, closing the door behind them.
