Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends live and work on the island of Sodor.
Thomas is proud to be the number one engine in the Fat Controller's team; he runs along the railway line with his two coaches Annie and Clarabel behind him.
Annie carries the passengers while Clarabel carries both passengers and their luggage.
Thomas is a really useful engine. He is a cheeky, fussy little engine who gets himself into lots of scrapes, usually because he is too keen on doing the jobs that are best left to the bigger engines.
Thomas shares his shed with five other engines. They are:
