Born October 19, 1970 in Southern California.
Chris Kattan's parents divorced when he was around age 3. His mother and step-fater moved Chris to a quiet home outside of Los Angeles in Mount Baldy. Chris would visit his father in LA on the weekends.
He livied in Seattle during his high school years, then he returned to Los Angeles for college. He attended the University of California at Northridge.
Previous to being cast on Saturday Night Live, Chris was a member of a Los Angeles improv and sketch group called the The Groundlings. Chris was not the first person from that organization to be cast on Saturday Night Live, Will Ferrell, Ana Gasteyer, Cheri Oteri, Phil Hartman, and Jon Lovitz were also members of The Groundlings.
During the summer of 1997, Chris was filming a movie entitled "A Night at the Roxbury." This movie also stars Will Ferrell (Steve Butabi), Colin Quinn and Molly Shannon. The date that it will open is set for October 2.
