Chapter 4
Liz smiled up at Lucky coyly. "Oh I don't know Lucky....I might have to wash
my hair on Saturday."
Lucky raised one eyebrow at her and just stared at her.
"Oh, okay! If you're going to twist my arm, I guess I'll go." Liz laughed at
him
"ALLRIGHT" Lucky exclaimed, picking Liz up at the waist and spinning her
around.
"Okay, okay.....put me down." Liz giggled helplessly struggling to be put on
the ground. Unfortunately her struggles caused Lucky to lose his balance and
sent them both tumbling to the ground in a jumble of arms and legs. Suddenly
it turned into a tickle war with Liz winning as she sat on Lucky's stomach and
held his wrists above his head.
"Do you surrender?" asked Liz with a glint in her eyes
"Never!" exclaimed Lucky as he bucked his body, sending Liz toppling off of
him. Lucky leaned over her as she lay on her back trying to catch her breath.
He brushed her hair out of her eyes and said "When I see you smile it makes
every dark cloud in my world go away."
"Well, then prepare for sunny days Lucky, because with you in my life I intend
to do a lot of smiling." Liz smiled up at him and reached up to touch his
face, she trailed her hand down his neck and chest until it was resting on his
uninjured side. "and laughing!" she said as she started tickling him again.
Lucky fell back to the grass laughing as well, then he gasped in pain as all
the activity finally took it toll.
"Lucky.....what's wrong?" Liz exclaimed
Lucky had his hand over his side, "It's nothing....the stitches are just
pulling a little."
"Lemme see" Liz leaned over and pulled up his shirt. "I don't see any blood
so I don't think you pulled out any stitches. But how about if we just lay
here for a few minutes?"
"Sounds good to me!" Lucky said, wiggling his eyebrows at her "Come here."
Lucky stretched out his arm and Liz laid her head on his shoulder and he
wrapped his arm around her waist.
"So where should we go on our first date?" Lucky asked Liz, gently rubbing at
the indention of her waist
"I don't know" Liz shrugged, "why don't you surprise me?"
Lucky looked down at the top of her head "Are you sure that you are ready for
surprises?"
Liz lifted up a little and looked into his eyes. "As long as you are part of
the surprise, how could it possibly be bad?"
Lucky smiled at her and reached over to touch his finger to the tip of her
nose. "Okay then gorgeous....get ready for the night of your life!"
Lucky sat up pulling Liz with him.
"Where are you going?" Liz asked, perplexed
"I've got a lot of stuff to do if I'm going to plan the perfect first date!"
Lucky said getting to his feet. He reached out for Liz's hand and pulled her
to her feet.
Liz wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him. "I'm sure that anything
you plan will be wonderful, just tell me how I should dress."
"As soon as I figure out what we are doing I'll let you know" Lucky said,
returning her hug. "But I've got to go now because I promised Jason I would
come back to work today."
"Are you sure that you are up for that?" Liz asked anxiously
"I promise I'll be careful, besides, I have a few things I need to discuss
with Jason anyway" Lucky carefully kissed her forehead, and started down the
patio steps. When he glanced back over his shoulder, Liz had her fingertips on her
forehead, and a smile on her lips.
