Stefan's New Love
Chapter 9
"We will always be lovers
With boarders of their own."
It was a week after the Ceremony and Brie still hadn't heard from Stefan. She decided to
take matters into her own hands. Mrs. Landsbury announced her arrival to Stefan. He was in
his study working. Brie confidently walked into the room.
B Well?
S Good afternoon Brie! (he smiled) Well what?
B Who won the bet?
S Ah yes, the bet.
B Well?
Stefan walked out from behind the desk. He slowly walked toward her. She stood her ground.
They had eyes contact till he was two feet away then her eyes were drawn to his mouth. He
kissed her without touching any other part of her body. Their lips melted together. He
pulled back and took each of her hands in his.
S I have to declare a default.
At first Brie didn't know what he was talking about. Her breathing came under control
finally and she asked.
B Why? What happened?
S You were right in that Laura professed her love for me.
B Then I won!
S But you bet that you wouldn't let me go.
B That's right! I'll fight for you.
S I'm afraid that's out of the question
.
Brie was totally confused. He just kissed her so completely it took her breath away but
Laura told him she loved him. What's going on?
B Then you're going back to her?
S No.
B Then why the default?
S You don't have to fight for something that's given freely.
He pulled her hands down to his sides so she had to take a step toward him. His lips
sought hers again. The kiss started out tender but it deepened into a passionate hungry
kiss. Brie wanted her arms around him but he wouldn't let go of her hands. He put her
hands behind her back and pressed her body into his. She moaned into his mouth as her
breasts were crushed to his chest. Stefan finally let go of her hands and she wrapped them
around his neck her fingers running through his hair. His hands were on the small of her
back holding her tightly to him. She felt his arousal pressed into her stomach. Brie
pulled back.
B Whoa! What does this actually mean? You're giving me what?
S You are so exasperating. (he said not wanting the kiss to end)
B How so?
S You want everything spelled out don't you?
B You may use the big words you're so fond of if you wish. (she laughed)
S I would like to get to know you better. I would like to spend time with you.
B Oh is that all? (she chuckled) OK, just as long as you're gentle with my heart Stefan
Cassadine because I'm in love with you. (Stefan looked like he didn't know what to say) I
don't say that to put pressure on you. I don't expect you to claim your love for any one
so soon after a lost love. I'm just letting you know where I'm coming from. I love you and
I'd be honored and pleased to spend time with you and get to know you better. No pressure,
no strings. (She stepped back into his arms) Now where were we? (She kissed him again.)
S I'm glad to see the liberated woman is finally coming out again. I don't like to be the
one to always make the first move.
B Oh you won't have to worry about that any more. You just might have to fight me off.
(she laughed)
S I don't foresee that happening. (he kissed her tenderly)

Chapter 10
"You may charge across

Stefan and Brie continued attending the Cassadine family functions together. Stefan was so
proud to have Brie on his arm. Not only was she beautiful but he was now taken off the
meat market he smiled with relief. At one such function two weeks after the Crowning
Ceremony they had just gotten done dancing. Stefan grabbed two glasses of champagne from a
passing waiter. They were lost in conversation when all of a sudden Stefan stiffened.
Laura? he thought to himself.
B What's wrong Stefan?
S I just had the strangest feeling. Laura (he whispered)
B Laura?
S Is she here? Do you see her?
B (She looked over his shoulder. Sure enough she spotted Laura on the arm of Nicholas.)
She's here with Nik.
S I'm going to have to have a long talk with my son.
Stefan never turned around but Brie saw that Laura and Nik had seen them and were on their
way over and told him so.
B Did you want to slip out to the patio while I head them off?
S No, I'm not going to run away. I have nothing to hide. I think some introductions are in
order don't you? (He smiled. She smiled up into his face just as Laura spoke.)
L Stefan! Just the person I was looking for.
N Laura arrived late today for a week long visit. She asked to accompany me. (Nik tried to
explain seeing the agitated look in his father's eyes.)
S You should have let us known you were coming Laura we could have been better prepared
for your visit.
L But aren't surprises fun? (she turned a questioning eye on Brie)
S Oh, forgive me for being impolite. Laura may I introduce you to Gabriella Oneida. Brie
this is Laura Spencer, Nicholas's mother. (Laura and Brie exchanged a handshake.)
B I'm so pleased to finally meet you Mrs. Spencer. Nicholas has told me so much about you.
L Well unfortunately I haven't heard any thing about you Mrs. Oneida.
B Oh, I'm not married Mrs. Spencer and please just call me Brie. All my friends do.
L (Laura's eyebrows shot up under her bangs. She didn't like the fact that Brie had a hold
of Stefan's arm in such a possessive manner.) Well I look forward to getting to know you
better Ms. Oneida. (the jab wasn't lost on any of them. The tension was getting thicker by
the minute.)
A waltz had just started and Brie tugged at Stefan's arm. He got the hint and asked her to
dance. They excused themselves and headed for the dance floor.
L OK Nicholas what's going on?
N With what Laura?
L I take it Stefan and Ms. Oneida are dating?
N Um, I guess you could call it that.
L How long have they known each other?
N I think they met about two months ago.
L He knew her before the Crowning Ceremony? Why didn't she attend?
N Brie was there but I don't know if Stefan knew it.
Laura got as much information out of Nicholas as she could. She had competition! The
history they shared however would work in her favor plus she was going to have his baby.
With all the upheaval in her life she'd missed all the tell tale pregnancy signs, chalking
up the nausea and missed periods to stress. She knew they had many things to work out. He
would forgive her. She knew he loved her and she loved him. That was all that mattered.
She wasn't going to use the baby. Her plan was to win him back first then give him the
glorious new. She just didn't have a lot of time.
Stefan sighed as the dance began.
B Are you alright?
S Yes, fine.
B Old feelings die hard don't they?
S 20 year old feelings especially.
Brie was so glad he knew he could confide in her. He knew she wouldn't judge him and was
there to be supportive no matter what.
S I wonder what she wants. Laura rarely does anything without a reason. I wonder if she
brought Lesley Lu with her. You'd love her little girl. She looks just like Nicholas when
he was small.
Stefan's face lit up while he talked of Lesley Lu. They had never discussed children Brie
thought suddenly. It's obvious Stefan adores children. They would make beautiful babies
together. She smiled.
S What are you smiling about? (he chuckled)
B Lesley Lu has a special place in your heart doesn't she. You must miss her.
S Yes I do. That was the hardest part of leaving Port Charles, but she has a father.
B Do you want children Stefan?
S More than anything Brie! Nicholas is mine no matter what a blood test says and I have,
had (he corrected) a bond with LuLu. Children are so innocent and trusting. Parents are
supposed to be the teachers but I learned far more from Nicholas than I could ever teach
him. I learned everything you need to know about Mud Tea Parties from LuLu.
B Mud Tea? Oh, she sounds like a girl after my own heart. To serve Stefan Cassadine Mud
Tea? (she laughed uproariously)
Laura was watching them. Ms. Oneida was laughing up into Stefan's face. He was smiling.
They had gotten close in such a short period of time. She didn't want to concentrate on
Ms. Oneida. She wanted to concentrate on them. Stefan and Laura, the couple. She had
searched her heart. Stefan was the man she wanted. She would always love Luke but they had
grown apart. They didn't want the same things out of life. Lucky could have been the
catalyst for bringing the Spencer family back together but that wouldn't change the basic
facts. Luke loved adventure and danger. Laura loved her home and family. This child
growing inside of her brought that realization home a thousand fold. She'd always loved
Stefan. His family however had caused her so much pain. The accusation she threw in his
face about kidnapping Lucky was her way of striking back. It didn't matter to her at the
time that she knew he would never do that to her. He would never do that to Nicholas! Her
hormones must have already kicked in. She knew Stefan didn't want her excuses. He wanted
her love and she was here to give it to him. She would give him her heart on a silver
platter if that's what it took.
