Units
of the Royal Canadian Air Force had a vital role in the defense of Canada
and Alaska and the Aleutians. Five flying units served in the Alaskan Theater
of Operations during the Second World War.
The
units were assigned to the United States Alaskan Command for Operations
and to the RCAF “X” Wing or “Y” Wing for all other tasking.
