OF DREAMS

FLASH
POINT
Walking
through the mist of time
How I wish that you were mine
However, dreams don't always come true
So our paths may never cross
For reasons that are far too many
This flash point in our lives
Will always remain such
A special experience
One that will sustain my through
My present relationship
For years to come and beyond

LONELY
GIRL
In
the heat of the night
You gave me such a fright
For one so lovely as you
With a twirl of the hair
You laid me bare
To meet my dreams
For me tonight

WHY
You
are my friend
Since I don't know when
Sad and lonely
Teardrops fall from your eyes
What can I do to help you
Laugh and sing
Before the sun shines again

SINGAPORE
LADY
Working
all week
With no time to play
Dreaming of someone
Who could brighten my day
Looking for fun
With a person to share
Making my dream come true
Oh my sensual dream
Of this lady from Singapore

THE
RISING SUN
With
the going down of the sun
The shadows lengthen
Bringing the day to a close
It's like two separate worlds
The old and the blue
Stirring the passion from within
Of just not a few
Releasing the tension built
Up during the day
Many people find time to play
In a world of illusions dreams appear
To turn into reality
Becoming so clear
Friends become lovers who truly share
The joys of life beyond compare
Then just as suddenly as it all began
Comes the rising of the dawn
Across a passionate land
Lifting the veil of secrecy from
Night games so dear

TEJAS
TRINITY WOMAN
Moving
around a land so vast
In it's difference
From sunny coastlines
To mountains high
To the wilderness sanctuaries
And bustling cities
Walks a Tejas Trinity woman
With beauty like a Bluebonnet
Flowing in the breeze
Waiting with anticipation
For the seasons to change
To test another freeze
Living for a while in dear old
Houston Town
Trinity woman thought she had found
Her one true love, the answer
To her prayers
Although their seeds sure bore
Fruit as miracles often do
It wasn't long before the sun
That shone turned a deeper shade of blue
What to do?
It soon became clear that Trinity was the way
So setting out at early dawn
The chariot blazed away
Not stopping for a moment till
Reaching Trinity Town
Now she's safe on her land
A peaceful little plot
There's no need to explore
The world beyond this block

AMITE
FLOWER
Pressed
within the pages of
The great Louisiana land
Lives a flower so rich and pure
That the Mississippi River
Bayous and waterways
Cannot hide the beauty of this Amite Flower
Standing there side by side with the
Magnolia of the state
Living from one day to the next
In a subtropical paradise
This Amite Flower already knows
The meaning of her fate
Moving from town to town
Chasing but a dream
Looking for love that's not there
To fill her wayward life
Until she finds herself wandering back
To a place without much cheer
A location where her only friends
Are Lori Belle and a cold, cold
Glass of beer

FEELINGS
You
came into my life
When it was least expected
The warmth of your touch
Laughter and sense of humor
Was like a breath of fresh air
Leaving one spellbound
Unable to breathe
Whenever you're close
Loneliness disappears
Zest for life gathers new momentum
When you're far away
Pain, frustration and loneliness
Returns to haunt my waking hours
Lost in the mist of human feelings
Unable to hold the line
Against the pull of such emotion
Struggling to come to terms with the situation
One ponders in the still of the night
How can one cope with the mysteries of love

WHAT
TO DO
Dreaming
of green fields full of flowers
With their different shapes in a sea of green
Helps one to seize the moment
With the love of ones dreams
Laying together is such a place
Looking up at the sky
While she takes shape
Full of stars, moon and wind
It's what makes me dream again
Of a love.. oh so rare
It's wonderful with whom I share

MISSOURI
FLING
Living
out of sight from town folk
Lives a woman full of cheer
With long brown hair
With skin so fair
She has a beauty that delights
Sometimes happy, sometimes sad
Life sometimes drives her mad
Then one day she finds a friend
To share her dreams with
Some poetry too
Now she's happy full of cheer
She has someone to share
Her time with dear

CYBER
GIRL
She
came online just the other day
Listening to what people had to say
Interesting, she thought
As they spoke about life
That her life was so similar
In so many ways
For the Net beavers spoke of
Love and pain in such a way
It hurt to say
"I've loved and lost just like you"
Because life's about love and pain
Which gives meaning to social blues
That shapes our lives
The whole time through
Making it possible to mix with you

SCARLETT
Out
of nowhere came a wonderful girl
With hair that's shiny
A brown delight
The blue green eyes that drool
With delight
From dawn 'till dusk she works so hard
It will be a welcome to see her
In from the yard
Dressed for the night in that special way
It's her man she'll have
If she gets her way

FLYING
HIGH
When
standing on the ground
There's hardly a frown
It's safe and secure
Which feels just right
No matter whether it's day or night
Then there are times when we're flying high
Up in the sky among the clouds
Sometimes it's smooth
But can be rough
Which means one must be
Made of sterner stuff
Those people who work high in the sky
Are not allowed to be scared or cry
Smiling, chatting, moving around
They sure look after the
People of the ground
So whenever you have to fly in the sky
Remember the smile of those up high

SITTING
STILL
Ever
wonder what it would be like
Not to move, sing or jive
In a world so busy
There's no time to sigh
Slowing the pace against the race
Allows the mind to slow for a time
To think at a speed more in
Tune with human ways
So where is the mix which lends itself
Universally towards improving
The health of humans who are not
Just machines on the shelf
Looking around it's plain to see
People long eternally
Peace of mind, a place to hide
Just to enable them to survive
Thus the desire to return to the path
Of those yester-year times and peace at last

HOW
THINGS CHANGE
Growing
up among family, friends
And things which are familiar
Does not prepare the individual
For the changes that occur
As families grow, new friendships
Made within an environment
So dissimilar
Coping then with this revolving change
Creates the steel within the self
Which enables life to become
Interesting, much more tolerable
The mind broadens accepting new ideas
Ready to adjust, meeting each
And every new challenge
Sadly though, there are those you know
Who find it hard to cope with change
Sorrow, heartache
Disillusionment's their goal
Leaving society bewildered
Fortunately enough many
Individuals are tough equal to the test
They rise above those left behind
To enjoy what life has to offer
With their creative ideas
And positive style
They achieve something really worthwhile

The
Yalgoo Pub
Meeting
the needs of contractors, travellers and locals alike
The Yalgoo Pub is the scene of much delight
Old Darby with his ready smile
Is ever prepared to lend a hand, if only for awhile
Then there's Doug the Irish Chef who always does his best
Supported by Joe, a likeable young bloke
Still passing through from the east
His cooking is the talk of the town
How the locals love Thursday nights, when they come around
Dear Fran a delightful young lass
Really loves the game of pool
While Petra, her dalmation samples the evening cool
So when in town staying for awhile
Call in, meet the folk who work at the Yalgoo Pub.

Lindsay's
Place
In
a land full of contrasts there's always something to do
From wandering near Yalgoo Town
Watching the magic of the stars
As they perform their ritual in the stillness of the night sky
To viewing the enchantment of the wild flowers
Which dance and sway in the prevailing breeze
A visit to the old gold mining sites is always worth the effort
Like the fields around Gullewa and Field's Find,
Just to name two
Stopping along the way to rest for awhile
At Barnong and Thundelarra Stations
Renews the energy to enjoy for a time
The picturesque beauty of Lindsay's Place
Before travelling on down the line

MEMORIES
Throughout
the human mist of time
Many individuals affect lives
Of people they meet along the way
Some stay but a short while
Countless others stay a life time
Travelling around, sharing things
Such people know what life brings
On and on their friendship grows
Till they know what each other knows
That having a mate one can trust
Is the most important thing for all of us
So when it's time for one to go
It's the memories which sustain us so...

THE
OUTBACK TRAIL
Moving
around not looking back
Living, working, playing beyond the city lights
Dreaming of a peaceful life
Longing for the day when dreams held so dear
Shower forth in a kaleidoscope of colours
So rich in depth, design and meaning
That living in an isolated lonely outpost
Discovers new meaning
Giving birth to a warm inner glow
To a feeling of contentment
For Angela, a nomadic bush nurse

WAITANGI BILL
Born
into Maori world back in the depression years
So dominated by the Pakeha ascendancy
Waitangi Bill learned to cope with the struggles of life
Eating away the Chinese way he always enjoyed a feast
Living off what fell from a truck
Striving for an education the Panmure sisters showed him
Supported by the strength of Apikera a resourceful mum
Who developed a cheerful zest
Simply looked on the bright side of life
Strolling through a grown-up world of mateship
Engulfed by the mysterious form of the human spirit
Enriched by the sweetest girl in Maoridom
Mixing with as it were the culture of a far off land
Old Bill soon learnt to communicate
With those who opened a gate
To freedom of expression and human understanding

THE
LONG JOURNEY
Preparing
for a long journey out into the sticks
Two union men were run off their feet
One was a driver, one had a map
Oh yes, these boys were ready
For a drive in the outback
Driving along checking out the sites
They never dreamed it would take all night
Towns like Northam, Kalgoorlie too
Were places on the map they were travelling to
Checking the direction they soon headed north
Arriving in Geraldton in time for the course
