GETTING OLD, 1/2001
Wisdom hell, I’m just plain getting old,
this I hear, often this I’m told.
When I think of chewing gum, I frown,
for fear of losing a filling or a crown.
I now watch a lot of events of sorts,
I used to be active in several sports.
Still being older is better then what’s next,
as I work on my new book of poetic text.
I still have so much I want to do, and see,
so dear God watch over my honey and me.
I want to travel, and babe I’d like to show you,
far away, where I was born, and where I played too.
I really don’t mind getting old hon,
as long as we set aside some time for fun.
I get these ideas, young thoughts I think,
like to sip on wine, frolick as I smile and wink.
