DECEPTICONS |
Megatron
"My power is your doom!"
Megatron's the big baddy. The main villain. The numero uno bad
guy. He leads the Decepticons, and is very controlling of his underlings.
He demands absolute loyalty, and doesn't tolerate failure. However, he
himself can be a little bit underhanded and disloyal, especially in his
manipulation of Starscream, in order to possess the Star Saber, which
came into Decepticon possession in the episode "Credulous." His weapon of choice
now, however, seems to be the Requiem Blaster, which he stole from the Autobots
in the episode "Sacrifice." Whether or not he'll actually keep it remains to be
seen.
Megatron transforms into a tank. He has an "attack mode", in which he moves his
turret cannon in front of him, and fires it at full power.
Megatron's Minicon partner is named Leader-1, who transforms into an artillery truck. |
Starscream
"My destiny is leadership."
Starscream is based off of the original G1 character by the same name.
Like G1 Starscream, he doesn't have much love for Megatron, and is pretty
conceited and self-absorbed. There are some differences.
Armada Starscream has had blow after blow to his ego, and it's effected him a
great deal. Recently, he challenged Megatron in combat, and lost,
resulting in Starscream's decision to become a more loyal soldier, rather than
continue his embarrassment. I don't claim to be an expert on G1
Starscream, but his Armada counterpart seems more interested in doing things
fairly, and has a personal sense of honor to go along with his pride.
Starscream, after learning he was nothing more than cannon fodder to
Megatron, recently seceded from the Decepticons in the episode "Regeneration,"
taking the Star Saber with him. He temporarily allied with the Autobots, and gave them the means to enter the Decepticon base in order to get revenge on
Megatron. However, Starscream felt out of place among the Autobots, and only remained due to his hatred of Megatron. Due to the machinations of Thrust, he was manipulated into stealing the SkyBoom shield, and betraying the Autobots...
Starscream turns into a jet. Powerlinking causes two powerful cannons to
flip onto his shoulders; he calls them his "Null Laser Cannons." One of
Starscream's wings turns into a sword. He wielded the Star Saber a second
time in the episode "Sacrifice", but it is unknown if he will continue to
possess it.
Starscream's Minicon partner is named Swindle. He transforms into a race car. Starscream is also the current wielder of the Star Saber, and the Air Defense Team members seemingly have an appeciation for him. |
Demolishor is Megatron's most loyal soldier. Out of all the
Decepticons, he has the most dedication to their leader. However, this
isn't always a good thing, as Demolishor is most often the one blamed when the
Decepticons fail in battle. Naturally, Megatron doesn't show nearly as
much concern for Demolishor as Demolishor does for him... That makes
Demolishor's character somewhat tragic, in a way.
Demolishor turns into an anti-aircraft tank. He is armed with guns on his
fingers, and laser pulse blasters on his shoulders. Powerlinking causes
the power of these weapons to increase. It may also cause his pulse
blasters to become missile launchers, but this has not happened yet.
Demolishor's Minicon partner is named Blackout, who transforms into a military communications vehicle. |
Cyclonus
"Out of my way! Attack!"
Cyclonus isn't the best soldier the Decepticons have, but he does have one
thing going for him: He's frikkin' crazy. Seriously. No other Armada
character gets more joy out of combat than he does. Always cackling madly
as he fires on the Autobots, Cyclonus cares more for getting into battle than he
does for the Decepticon cause. However, when he's on the receiving end of
an attack, his cowardice becomes evident. This is particularly evident in
the fact that the only Decepticon that he doesn't insult is, well, Megatron.
Cyclonus transforms into a helicopter. His vehicle mode has two guns, and in both modes he has laser pulse blasters that double as missile launchers.
Cyclonus's Minicon partner is named Crumplezone, but he has only appeared twice in the series. |

Thrust
"I fight, I prevail, I conquer!"
Thrust is a recent arrival that has pretty much replaced Demolishor as
Megatron's right hand man. He's well known among both the Decepticons and
the Autobots, and led the Decepticons to numerous abilities in the past.
His specialty is coming up with battle strategies, which are usually planned in
advance. They have a habit of blowing up in his face, however, when
unpredicted elements show up. Thrust seems to have formed an alliance with Sideways, and may be planning to take over...
Thrust transforms into a jet, and is equipped with the standard laser blasters.
Thrust's Minicon partner is named Inferno, who turns into a missile truck. |
Wheeljack
"An answer can only be found in battle!"
Wheeljack was once an Autobot (gee, there's a lot of side switching in this series...). He was a trainee who served under Hot Shot, but was trapped under rubble in the midst of a battle. When Hort Shot was unable to return with help, Wheeljack was saved by Megatron. Out of a life debt to Megatron, and a desire to get revenge on his former friend, Wheeljack has joined the Decepticons. Somehow, though, he seems hesitant to actually kill Hot Shot. Causing him emotional pain, however, is quite alright...
Wheeljack has an impressive array of abilities. In car mode, he can cloak, teleport, and create numerous holograms of himself. He also wields two powerful energy blasters. His Minicon has not appeared yet.
Tidal Wave
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" (Note - not actual tech spec quote)
Tidal Wave is a Decepticon warrior summoned to earth by Thrust. He towers
over all other Autobots and Decepticons, making him a force to be reckoned with.
While he is sentient, he doesn't speak much, preferring to follow orders and lay
waste to his opponents. He's not very smart, but when you've got ammo like
he has, you don't need to be.
Tidal Wave is a "triplecon", meaning, his body divides and takes the form of
three different vehicles. Those three vehicles (an aircraft carrier, a
destroyer, and a submersible landing craft) can combine into his robot mode AND
a giant battleship. Tidal Wave's main weapons are the laser cannons on his
torso.
Tidal Wave's Minicon has not appeared yet.
Megatron and Tidal Wave have the ability to combine, much like Optimus and Jetfire. While not possessing a combined form name like Jet Optimus, "Mega Wave" (my pet name for the form) is more than a match for the combined Autobot warrior. Megatron seems to be the one in control of this form, with Tidal Wave's components serving as weaponry. He possesses Tidal Wave's weapons, the ability to fly, and Megatron's turret cannon.
Sideways
"Efficiency through self-sufficiency."
"He's a man of many many faces..."
Sideways is a wild card. Ever since he arrived, he's been manipulating both sides. He originally tried passing himself off as an Autobot, but betrayed them, resulting in Hot Shot nearly getting killed and the loss of the Star Saber. From that point on, he worked with the Decepticons. However, his manipulation did not end, as he tried turning the Decepticons against one another in the episode "Rebellion," and firing on Cyclonus in "Decisive Battle." He was recently discovered, and, for a time, disappeared after a display of some very, uhm, unique powers. He has resurfaced, and has seemingly convinced Thrust to join him in an alliance... though, once again, Sideways may be playing the Decepticons for fools.
Sideways transforms into a motorcycle. His weaponry consists of a blaster on each arm. However, that is not the full extent of his powers... in recent episodes, he demonstrated an amorphous nature, which allowed him to save himself after Megatron sliced him to pieces with the Star Saber.
Sideways has two "Minicons" that form his Autobot and Decepticon faces, as well as a combined rider form. However, they do not act like normal Minicons, and may very well be Sideways true self. Their names are Rook and Crosswise. |
This mysterious figure appeared in the episode "Chase," where Sideways confronted the humans in a digital dimension. He is apparently Sideways' master... Has he sent Sideways to prepare for his arrival? This entity's identity has not been revealed in the show yet, but Transformers fans have a pretty good idea who he is... Highlight to read: Unicron.
