Kup is a grizzled veteran Autobot, an Autobot who's seen it all and always has a word of advice or a tall tale for any given situation. A loyal friend who prefers to cast himself in the role of mentor to others. As the head of Autobot security on Cybertron, Kup can be dismissive at times of those whom he views as having less experience than himself; he can be somewhat patronizing at times especially to the human Earth Defense Command leaders. Believes the past is the greatest teacher.
Kup is Cybetron's chief of security and, as such, has played a part in every major Autobot operation since the turn of the century. He often clashed heads with the EDC in 2006 and 2007, arguing that only the Autobots could successfully battle the Decepticons and that the humans were not adequately armed or capable of repelling Decepticon attacks. Following the "Final Offensive," Kup was an opponent of the Autobot withdrawal, fearing that such a move would leave Earth open for future Decepticon attack. Since the withdrawal, however, there has been no Decepticon activity against Earth, and Kup was happy to admit he was wrong, although he continued to cautiously warn about the future.
Kup draws upon millions of years of experience in carrying out his duties as chief security officer. He always has a story for any given situation and is an effective and oftimes beloved teacher. He wields an old-fashioned musket laser and transforms into a futuristic pickup truck.
