Doctor Sandra Pilar is an unqualified genius, although in personality, she has been described as cold and aloof by her peers. She would describe herself as awkward in social situations. A highly analyical, driven personality, she suffers from intermittent bouts of depression.
Sandra Pilar was born in 2003 of mixed Caucasian and Asian parentage. Extremely intelligent from birth, she graduated high school by the time she was 15, although the feelings of being the "nerdy" kid in school, especially one so much younger than her peers, would remain with her long afterwards. Constantly driven by her overbearing mother, Pilar enrolled first in college and then in a Ph.D program in applied physics. During this time, she would begin to suffer periodic bouts of depression, which she dealt with by devoting more of herself to her work.
Upon her graduation, she took a position with the Earth Defense Command science team at the urging of her mother, as the EDC, with its expansion and vast funding, was considered a highly prestigious placement. Her most recent research involved the study of various stellar and planetary phenomena in the Devoron System.
