Col. Marissa Faireborn

Profile:

Marissa Faireborn is a member of humanity's Earth Defense Command, a structure of space station and space fleets. She is the ranking officer at Proxima Station, the nearest station to the Sol System. Fiercely independent and self-reliant, believes humanity should be able to stand on its own two feet against any threat, including Decepticons.

Personal History:

Marissa Faireborn was born in a military life from the start. An army brat, Marissa's parents were members of the elite secret U.S. counterterrorism team code-named G.I. Joe. As a result, she was cared for by relatives and managed to see her parents only occasionally during her childhood, which contributed to her independent streak growing up.

Faireborn enrolled in the Air Force Academy and, following her graduation, was tapped for the fledging Earth Defense Command program in 2005. There have been rumors that nepotism was the cause of her appointment, although Faireborn would never stand for such a thing herself; her independent nature would not accept trading on a family name over earning her stripes herself. In any event, Faireborn quickly proved herself to be an outstanding officer who played a fundamental role in the development and expansion of the EDC. She was in close contact with the Autobot supervisors of the project, including Autobot leader Rodimus Prime, but most of her contact was with Autobot City Commander Ultra Magnus, who was the Autobot most closely involved with the EDC.

During her tenure with the EDC, Faireborn was involved in a number of incidents with hostile alien powers, including the Decepticons. She was one of the few humans who have encountered the Quintessons, which she has on two separate occasions.

Faireborn was present when the Decepticons' "Final Offensive" of 2007 decimated most of the EDC's fleet and space stations and the organization suffered severe casualties, including the death of her mentor, Supreme EDC Commander Thomas Halberd. The results of this battle would wound Faireborn deeply, and she was one of the chief proponents of the resolution to demand that the Autobots leave Earth, so that their presence would not continually attract their enemies, the Decepticons, to the planet. There has been no Decepticon incursion against Earth in the last twenty years, which has only cemented further Faireborn's belief that the Autobots' involvement with human affairs only brings more trouble than it is worth. She has spent the last twenty years pressing for the expansion and upgrading of the EDC, striving to put humanity on an equal footing with the Decepticons or any hostile power that would dare to attack.
