With this motorcycle I have traveled the furthest to pick it up, 7 hours away. I purchased it on April 14, 2000, my first American made, V-twin motorcycle with 8900 miles on it. Production #763. Modifions included were: V&H muffler, '96 headers from S1, KuryAkyn hypercharger air breather kit, oil cooler(screw on), fairing relocator, Screamin Eagle coil kit, Dynojet carb mods. June 2000(16581mi): Replaced broken header(original) with another S2 header(used), installed YB-16B battery.
September 15-17, 2000(17,170mi): Took Learning Curves(LCR) course at Summit Point,WV.
BRAG Mid-Atlantic Rally, got to meet Erik Buell. September 18, 2000: Installed Corbin seat, fits like a dream.
October 6, 2000(18399mi): Broke 2nd S2(used) header, replaced with 1996 S1(used) header and V&H SS2R carbon-fiber slip-on pipe. Feburary 6, 2001(19000mi): Took to C&C Cycles to get carburator work done. March 29, 2001(19650mi): Replaced the recall shock due to it leaking oil, only 8 months old. Now has 2001 Showa shock. April 7, 2001(19750mi): Replaced rotor and caliper with 1996 S1 setup. New rear footpegs, new handlebar grips, new intake manifold and intake gaskets. Changed 2 intake bolts to hex head. Installed new crankcase breather setup. April 28, 2001(21600mi): Dyno run at Harley-Davidson of Washington, Maximum-- 62 Hp at 5200rpm & 70 Lb-ftTorque at 3700rpm April 28, 2001(21630mi): Installed 2001 Buell M2 clutch shifter mechanism. With some modification, fabricated new shift linkage, a little grinding of the shift lever and some spacers (3 washers, 5/16" of spacing). Installed 1998 header heat shield. May 30, 2001(24114mi): Installed new rear tire, ordered new speedo drive gear, installed Screamin' Eagle coil.
June 29, 2001(24500mi): Installed speedo drive gear, installed ME Z3 tires, created brass catchcan.
