Adventures in Arcadayn
Priests of Druidism.
Druids may devote themselves to either Canthor or Yanira. They may also serve both, gaining the abilities and restrictions of both paths.
Prerequisites include Naturalist, Performance/Ritual, and others depending on the god(s) served:
Druids have Clerical Rank 1 [5] and Power Investiture 1 [10], or two levels of both if serving both gods. Druids do not gain their church as a Patron unless the cult is powerful enough to hold some sway over the local government; this is determined on a case-by-case basis. Base value will usually be 20; the high priest of such an organized clergy will have one additional level of Clerical Rank, but no more (and no increase in Power Investiture).
Regardless of whether the temple can act as a Patron, Druids have four Holy Days [4]: the solstices and equinoxes. For priests of only one Druid god, one solstice will be a High Holy Day (Canthor winter, Yanira summer) while the other is a day of weakness [point costs cancel]. For a priest of both gods, both solstices are balanced as regular holy days.
Priests of Canthor have Animal Empathy [5]; Yanira's have Plant Empathy [5]. (Beast Kin [15] and Tree-Kin [15] are allowed options, and will make Animal and Plant spells, respectively, easier to learn.)
All three kinds of priests have the following disadvantages: Discipline of Faith (Ritualism) [-5], Sense of Duty (all nature) [-15], Vow (never wear metal armor) [-10].
Spheres of Influence: Healing, Knowledge, Protection & Warning, choice of one element. Add Animal and Movement for Canthor; Food and Plant for Yanira. Priests of a single god may learn spells from the other god's spheres, but may only cast them in full ceremonial form (see pp. R104, M14). Elemental spells may be learned in this way only if they are PR's to spells of the element chosen by that druid. All cleric-only spells from pp. R109-112 (except Excommunication) may be learned. Most druids learn Consecrate early inntheir careers, in order to create a Sacred Vessel (pp. R105-106).
Most druids will maintain a "haven": a personal, sacred (and consecrated), natural setting appropriate to the terrain--a dense grove, a natural cave, an oasis, etc. Properly maintaining and protecting this haven will increase its sanctity level (see p. R102), and in time the haven may even acquire Aspected Mana (p. M94).
