FAQ

Why That Computer Guy?

That Computer Guy was nickname given to me by the people where I live since most didn't know my real name.

What do you do?

I collect used computers and parts and recycle them back into the community. Often free of charge to persons with low income or for a low fee.

Why do you do this?

Two reasons, one to keep working computers and parts out of the landfill and two to give people who normally would not have the opportunity to access to computers the chance to use and learn them.

Do you buy parts?

Not as a rule but I would if I ran out of donated parts and there was an urgent need for a system

Do you sell parts ?

Not as a rule once again, I will trade for parts I need but nothing Donated is ever sold unless agreed upon by the person donating the equipment

Are you a Registered Charity and provide receipts?

No I am not a registered charity and do not provide receipts. I am a recycler who does his best to help out those in need. If you require receipts I reconment you donate to http://www.tapp.org.

Do you do private work for the general public?

Yes I do please contact me with any information you can give me. Receipts are issued by request for any work done for payment.

How do I Donate?

Please email me and I will give you my address and phone number

What do you Need?

It varies from time to time, but systems are always needed, as are harddrives and RAM (PC2100 or higher).

What will you not take?

Once again that varies from time to time, I do not take Macs or low end (1.5 Ghz or below) computers or parts. You will find a link on the Donations Page to those who do except and needs those products. I also do not take printers as it is too expensive for the people I deal with buy replacement ink for them.
