X-Men 2020 Role-Playing Records
The following is the story in Air Raiser's X-Men 2020 RP at http://www.oocities.org/the2020rp/.
This Role Playing thread invovles mostly Vision and Genesis. It's basically a one
character record. This one was getting too long so every post after the 31st or March
is in the Vision Part II thread.
NOTE: Not every single posting was copied into this file. Only the posts that actually
added to the plot line where added. Most of the Out Of Character (OOC) comments have
been elimintaed to save space. If you have any probelms with with this notify me,

Vision sits at the kitchen table looking at the door to Mirage’s Bedroom, hopefully
Genesis would wake up soon and she could tell him where she would be going. She had
sent Paradox ahead to the lab. She would be following soon. Having spent as much
time as she possibly could nursing Alex she needed to get back to the lab. Who knew
what was going on there? She waits awhile longer before going to the computer embedded
in the wall and recording a message. It’s set to play when Genesis touches the door
knob of Mirage’s room. She records another one that will play if Genesis touches
the knob on the front door. Considering that he’s been out for almost a week again,
it still wasn’t safe for him to go out. As a last touch she sets the door so it won’t
let him out without contacting her.
She looks up as two cat’s saunter into the room. One is a very fluffy brown and black
cat with combination of calico spots and tabby markings. The other is a small prim
looking orange and white striped cat. Vision raises an eyebrow at them. “Now where
have you two been?”
The orange cat just flicks her tail before wrapping it around her legs as she sits
down. It’s the fluffy one that answers. Out.. We figured that you might want us
out of sight while you have your...friend...here. She gives a cat grin at the
last comment.
Vision looks down at her,”Don’t start Saash. I’ve had Paradox bugging me the entire
time. I don’t need anyone else starting, Capesh?”
Both cat’s shrug. This time the orange one answers. Whatever you say.
Vision glares at them both, “I don’t want comments from you either Rhiow. “ She looks
at the bedroom door again and sighs,”Will you two watch him? I’m heading back to
the lab, I have to see what’s happened.. I can’t be two places at once.”
Both cats seem to think it over for a moment before nodding carefully. We will.
They answer in unison.
Vision smiles,”Thanks. Now I’ve told him where everything he might need is, but if
he’s having trouble show him. Please be patient with him, he probably doesn’t understand
feline.”
Saash, the fluffy cat grins again, Oh, trust me, we’ll make him understand.
Vision smiles, “No claws and no teeth. You two know were the cat food is, help yourselves.
See you later..”
She heads out the door with one final look at the bedroom door. Both cat’s smile
at each other as she leaves. Saash grins,”This is gona be fun.” Rhiow smiles
back,”Oh yeah.”

Yawns and stretches, wondering what time it is, or even what day. He sighs and
gets up, feeling much better after the extended vacation, but feeling a need to at
least explain himself to the school... and his neighbor...
He crosses the room to the door...

He's up. The fluffy Saash comments.
The orange and white tabby Rhiow, grins. Yeah.
Saash grins back. Should we go say hello?
Rhiow flicks her tail, no. We should wait for him to discover Jen's message.
She'll skin us alive if we don't

He hears a noise from the room beyond, but figures it's Vision. He smiles as he turns
the door knob.

It's a smallish representation of Vision.
"Good morning Alex." The figure smiles a bit at this comment. "I already
sent Paradox ahead to the Lab and I'm going too now. I would really like to stay
but I must go check." Vision looks faintly worried, but the expression clears
quickly and she continues. "I should be back before the day ends, but if anything
comes up, I might not." The figure pauses for a moment. "There's food and
stuff in the cubbords, help yourself. If you need anything just see if you can find
one of the cats, they should be able to help you. Rhiow is an orange and white tabby
and Saash is very fluffy. Today is the 1 of Feb if you were wondering.. Anyway, feel
free to make yourself at home.... Bye." The message blinks off.

Blinks and pauses a moment to absorb the message, then mumbles fiercely under his
breath. He opens the door and, not yet noticing the two cats, dashes down the hall
to the room where his things were stored. He quickly throws on some new clothes,
replaces his long, white lab coat, checks the pockets for his 'specials' and stops
by the kitchen for breakfast. After he wolfs down a yogurt he finds in the fridge,
he makes a bee-line for the front door...

Skidds to a stop,and looks at the two cats ~What?~ he doesn't speak feline,
but they can definitly understand him. And obviously, he can understand them too.

have always confused me.~ sighs and reaches out to open the front door.

Begin snickering as a little hologram of Vision pops up beside the door as soon as
he touches the knob and begins to scold him, "I should have known you where
going to try leaving. Look, you've been out for more then a week, and this is the
second time! You aren't strong enough to get back home yet. Please, just try to make
yourself comfortable, I'll be back soon."
She looks really worried this time. Annoyed too..

Scowls back as the hologram chastizes him and argues with it, though he knows it
wouldn't do him any good "I am too strong enough!" he sighs as the holo
finishes and looks back to the two cats ~You knew about this, didn't you.~
he accuses.

Frowns at them, then studies each. Finally, he sighs again and turns to flop down
uncerimoniously on a recliner. ~So, now what? Am I stuck with you two all day?~
he says it with friendly intonations, so it doesn't sound like an insult, more like
a tease between friends.

Rhiow's tail flicks again. Nice try bud.... She halts half way through.
Well, maybe Saash.. I think I could use a little fresh air.. How about you?
Saash looks at her strangely for a moment. Then she gets the idea. Um, yeah..
Now that I think about it, I could use some fresh air..
Rhiow looks at him. We'll be right back... They both leave.

Blinks, somewhat amazed that his desperate ploy had worked, then goes to the door
again before thinking better of it and heading back to Mirage's room. He quietly
opens a window...

Another little Vision hologram pops up. "Are you really that desperate? Besides,
this place is five stories up." His fingers meet a wire screen.

They're all covered in thin clear plastic that's tougher then it looks. No message
pops up this time.

Smiles, and calls one of his 'specials'. The seed floats out of his pocket, and carefully
attatches itself to the windowsill. Then, it drills underneath the plasic, and lifts
it up almost effortlessly. Genesis smiles to himself and sends more energy out to
the sprouting seed, causing it to grow a long, thick, sturdy vine out the window.
He steps carefully out and onto the tendrill awaiting him, seating himself comfortably
for the descent.

Saash looks down. Jen isn't going to be happy.
Rhiow looks at her. It's not our fault if he escapes. We're only cats. Besides,
it will be funny to watch her yell him out.. Remeber that one fight she had with
Paradox?
Saash shudders. It was interesting, that's for sure. I don't think I've ever
seen the sky that dark.

The vine lowers him carefully to the ground, then returns to it's seed and floats
down to his pocket. His palms stop glowing, then he things, and they start up again.
He follows the trail that the flower in Vision's pocket had left, and starts off
down the street. He stops at a fast food place for a moment, thinking that maybe
she wouldn't be too mad if he had eaten first, then continues toward the forest lab...

Saash flicks her tail, Yes. Very sad. Then she suddenly smiles slightly.
She's going to think we chased him off or something...
Rhiow thinks. Wonder if she's going to go out to look for him?
Saash shrugs her tail. She went out to look for Jonathan...
Rhiow thinks. Yes, I suppose so..

Is walking towards Genesis, she looks tired. A large black shape flies overhead,
and is quickly gone. Vision looks up.. ~ That looks like...~

He continues on but senses that she's getting nearer faster than he's walking, so
he stops and waits for her, finishing his burger. Somehow, he has no idea what will
happen when they meet, but he doesn't expect what he'll probably be met with...

Blinks, her eyes widen, then narrow. Flash green and stay that way for
nearly a minute before flicking back to icy blue. Then she blinks again, worriedly
this time. The expression clears and then anger takes it's place. Then sadness, then
all expression clears.

in her voice and knew better than to ask what was wrong. He was.

depressed, and worried, and there's a hint of anger running through it all..

She sighs, the strain of having the sister that she's cared for all her life and
is now stuck in the lab is beginning to show. "I don't suppose the cat's tried
to stop you?"

He thinks for a second. "Mmmm, not particularly. They went out... why?"
is now worried about her, but he isn't as good at hiding it as she apparently is,
and it's plastered all over his face as he tries to conceal it in his voice.

Sighs yet again and starts heading back to her apartment. Her eyes are flickering
on and off, on and off... The green times are becoming longer and longer. The dusk
sky has become cloudy. It looks like rain.

Follows, silently, not wanting to upset her any more than he already has. There's
another reason for his following however, he has absolutely no idea where he is,
and where his apartment is from here... he shrugs mentaly and continues to follow
her, not knowing what may happen... he only knows she can have kitty ears... and
green eyes.

Speaking of kitty ears.... One of her ears flick, suddenly very cat like. Vision
seems to be aware of what is happening and looks silently at her hands. They're changing
too.. She closes her eyes tight like she's trying to stop tears.

She was surpirsed that he was still following her. The thought of Dagger and Monotoya
comes unbidden to her mind. ~Love must be nice.. but I don't have time for it..~
She almost sighs again as she listens to that thought.

He somehow gets the gist of the thought from his connection to the flower. He sends
her a little extra energy through the rose in her pocket, and it glows a little brighter
~She'll be alright... if she's anything like her sister, she'll be thinking up
ways of escape right now.~ the thought is accompanied by a warm, relaxing comfort.

Almost snuggles into the hand,but then stops when she realises what she almost did..
That almost ended up like one of Dagger and Monotoya's confrontations. And there
was no-one around to dump water on them.. She smiles slighly at the memory. "Thanks."
She speeds up a bit. She needs to tell those two cat's a thing or two...

point she looks back to see if Genesis is still following, it's close to the diner,
he should be able to find his way home from here..

to get back to home and school he was still following. She wonders how the people
downstairs will react to seeing Genesis follow her up then shrugs. She takes the

Glares down at them.

The two don't comment and only hang there heads.
"I did, didn't I?"
The cats still don't comment.
"What do you think you were doing?"
The cats look up guiltily, but still don't explain. Lightening cracks through the
sky and thunder sounds. Bot cats wince.
Vision looks down at them. "I think a few days as a human will teach you something..."
Both cats look completely horrified. Saash goes to run out of the room. Vision's
eyes go solid white for a half second. Rhiow runs from the room.
Vision watches them go then breaks out laughing. Then her face goes white and and
clutches the arm of the couch.
She mutters,"Overdid it.." She manages to sit before she collapses.

He blinks before rushing to her side to support her fall. "Wha?" he helps
her to the chair carwfully, slightly confused about what she had said.

The sounds of clothets openning and closing can be heard from both Vision's and Mirage's
room.

He watches her face woriedly and pays little attention to the sounds elsewhere in
the house, even though he notices them "Are you okay? What happened?"

Her eyes are still closed her face is taking on a greenish tinge. "I overdid
it... I used up more energy then I had."
A red head with amber eyes looks out into the living room and shakes her head. A
slightly shorter and younger looking girl with brown and black streaked hair and
amazingly green eyes peers out from behind her looking worried.

of healing energy, sending it to her a bit at a time, untill she can accept the full
amount.

The red head who's hair is actually more orange then red raises an eyebrow at him.
"Take a guess." Her voice has a hint of feline purr to it. The one with
brown and black streaked hair hides behind the other.

a scrutinizing gaze. "You two..." his eyes widen and he looks at Vision
again stunned.

"Yeah." Rhiow says plainly. "Before you start freaking out, turning
cats into people aren't part of her powers..."
Saash just looks somwhat paranoid.

at straws, because he has no idea what had happened, other than the two changing
into humans.

"Why don't you tell him, Jen? Afraid he's gona freak out or something.",
Rhiow snarls.
Saash pulls on Rhiow's arm and whimpers,"Rhi, that was cruel.."
Rhiow turns and snarls at Saash before stalking off. Saash looks apologetically at
the Vision and Genesis before going after her.
Vision sighs and rubs at her forehead. "I forgot how annoyed she gets after
I she turns human."

"I thought that I explained before, but evedently I didn't do it well enough.
My talent is shape shifting. This isn't my real form and when ever I get upset or
extremely stressed I loose control. Which is the reason behind my eyes flickering
green.." Wonders if there's anything else she should explain about...

back to the cat-humans, but he refocuses his attention fully on Vision, waiting.

"Basically a green cat person.." She sighs and closes her eyes and her
human form fades quickly. Leaving behind a distictly feline human. Vision is covered
in green fur that's got navy blue tabby markings. Her face is almost completely feline,
the only humanity is in the eyebrows. The hair on her head hasn't changed a bit.
When her eyes open again they're green with cat-like slit pupils. Every part of her
body is covered with the dense fur. Her hands which are folded on her lap are mostly
normal, except for the claws that tip them and the fur that covers them. She even
has a tail. She blinks at him and waits for his reaction.

Cocks his head and raises one eyebrow "Actually, you look kinda cute like this..."
smiles. "Anything else I should know about?" He seems to be taking this
very well for some reason.

She didn't know what she was expecting, but it wasn't this. She looks at him somewhat
strangely. Then something rare happens, Vision blushes. She's thankfuk that it's
hidden by her fur. "I don't think so.."

Meanwhile, Paradox nearly dies of shock. Last time someone had called Vision cute
he had watched as she slapped the guy hard. When the guy said another pick up line
after that, she had slapped him again, claws out. The guy ran with four deep scratches
across his face..
He relays the entire thing to Mirage.

Smiles "That's nice to know..." he grins at her, picking up a little of
what she was feeling from the flower she still carries. The rose itself glows a hazy
pink and is a little warm to the touch.

Smiles back..If there wasn't a happy emotion behind it, a smile would be a rather
scary thing. Vision has feline teeth as well, and her canine teeth are hollow and
posion filled. Vision suddenly remembers her teeth and blushes again and quickly
shuts her mouth. A person could only put up with so much....

well, your sister. Is she anything like you?" he begins to formulate a plan,
but he needs more information before he can put it all together.

lab like that she's in, anyway?" he doesn't want to get her hopes up if he can't
deliver, so he doesn't reveal too much of his forming plan.

then sits back "Tell me about those fangs of yours?"

Opens his eyes, and smiles up at her, "I wonder if they'd assume I was just
another scientist if I walzed in through the front door." he says it jokingly,
but it gives him another idea. He hides it very well, however, and continues smiling.

She almost blushes again. Then she sticks out her tounge at him, she's somewhat shocked
at how much better it makes her feel.
Paradox is just about dying. Vision actually acting her age? Or maybe even a bit
younger?

She eyes Genesis and Vision worriedly.
Vision sighs. "So what's Rhi doing?"
Saash still looks worried. "She's curled up on your bed."
Vision looks at her,"She's not trying to rip up my sheets again, is she?"
Saash's expression lightens a bit,"No, she's sulking."

Smiles slightly. "Alright..." he sits cross-legged on the floor in front
of her "It's a sketchy plan, but here goes:" he gestures with his hands
as he explains and the plan unfolds. It would be dangerous but almost possible. One
or two people would somehow get inside... and, since he didn't think that there would
be too much extra personel hanging around, figure out which area(s) their talents
did and didn't work, and where the others were being held. Then, they'd call in someone,
possibly paradox, or a group of people, for a distraction outside and open the doors.

nearby college. From the front gate, he turns to the southern-most building and enters
"Well, there it is. Lovely, isn't it?" a huge spread of plants greet them,
some flowering, some not, a few trees, and grass everywhere. It seems that the whole
building were alive with green and vibrant beauty.

could never get it to flower, but they never knew that it does, quite frequently.
Only, it lasts for just a few seconds at a time..." he approaches the potted
plant in the corner and kneels before it. Turns back to her "They threw it away,
that's why it's over in the corner. I've been hoping that they don't discover that
I'd rescued and hid it from them..." he gestures for her to come closer.

He puts one hand on either side, and his palms start to glow. The rose in Vision's
pocket adds it's pink to the blue, and the little plant shudders "C'mon little
one. I know I've been away for a while..."
Suddenly, the little thing bursts into color, vibrant reds and oranges, speckled
with bright purples. It's peatals are frilled and as soon as they emerge, turn blue.
Slowly, the blue creeps inward, and the flower slowly crumples in on itself "Wait,
littl one..." Genesis' gentle voice echoes for a moment, and the flower pauses
in it's death. He touches it lightly, and the colors come away in a burst of dust.
The sparkling dust hovers just above the now dead flower, and Genesis reaches out
to collect them in the palm of his still glowing hand. "There. it's life, captured
forever in the powder." he eaches carefully in to his pocket and removes one
of the pouches that he had used before to make his 'specials'. Cautiously, he pours
the dust from his shimmering palm, to the pouch and closes it.

bends over the little plant and sends it a small 'packet' of energy, just to help
itself heal from it's efforts. Then he stands and turns back to Vision "It's
a mutated hybrid of several different plants, so it's the only one of it's kind..."
he looks back at it, and through her contact with the rose he had given her, she
senses that it's lonely...

changes completely. Not her physical one, but her mental appearance. She doesn't
seem to be the same ice cold, serious Vision anymore, it's a somewhat ditzy sounding
Vision talking to the Professor. It becomes obivous that Vision is an acomplished
actor.

A knock on the door, and Genesis gets up to answer it. An old woman stands just outside,
but there is nothing feeble about this lady. She looks as strong and healthy as if
she were thirty, but the wrinkles and silver hair tell otherwise.
"Alex, thank goodness you're back! There was a burgulary!" she pushes past
him into his livingrom and stops when she sees Vision, blinking in confusion.

the woman bobs her head to Vision, then turns back to Genesis "Well, I can see
you have things under controll... Just watch out for that monster... he nearly gave
me a heart attack! Sure is a good thing I put a few holes in him. He got away with
some of your stuff though..." she grins at Genesis "Well, I guess now that
you're back I can stop thinkin' about sellin' your place." she turns back to
Vision "A pleasure to meet you, Jennifer... hope we'll meet again." She
turns back to Genesis and winks at him meaningfully. He has the grace to blush. The
woman grins and leaves.

When Vision is sure that she's out of hearing she raises an eyebrow at Genesis. "Interesting

time to leave. If Vision searched hard enough she would find him, and that would
be a bad thing. A very bad thing. You don't want to get on the bad side of some-one

He smiles and takes the stairs to the ground floor, then turns in the direction of
the diner.
Elsewhere, near the diner, the two partners walk together down the street. They hadn't
found what they were looking for at the diner, but that didn't stop them from looking.
Cameleon senses the two approaching and whispers softly to Tracker "You'd better
vanish, two." The man at her side nods and disappears suddenly, even to a psychic
he'd be gone. Chameleon continues down the dark street, confidently.

Just then, the woman rounds the corner and pauses, sizing up the two before her.
Tracker moves closer, circling the two, then returning to his partner.

By the time he finds his voice again, Tracker had extended his sheild around the
woman, and she had disappeared with him.

and shakes his head stiffly. "Yeah..." his voice is harsh, almost as if
her were a different person, and his eyes shine darkly in reaction to his absolute
opposite. Where he can only give life, they can only take it. Somehow, his thoughts
reach Vision and she feels the horror of what he had just realized. He shakes his
head again and takes a deep breath looking down and away from where the woman had
been standing only moments before.

again and repeats her question as if she just can't believe it, "A Vampire?"
She believes him, that little flash of horror was too real for him to be faking.

the prescence of something... dark... for the past week or so." he looks into
her eyes, his coal black. The air around them nearly crackles with energy, the side-effect
of the encounter.

Just a little while ago, we were taking a quiet stroll to the diner to see how things
were going there, then all of a sudden..." he shrugs and chuckles tiredly and

in her own bed, more then a little bit confused. She blinks sleeply and then realise
she's still in her clothes. She hadnt' changed since last night. Quickly putting
on some clean stuff she wanders out into the living room wondering how she got home.
Paradox is occupying the entire couch and is flipping through the channels on the
TV. He looks up when she entires.
~Hullo Jen. Glad ta see you up.~
She blinks at him, "Last thing I remember is sitting in the Diner talking to
Genesis..."
Paradox turns from his channel surfing. ~ I found you asleep in the diner, so
I brought you home. Did you have a good visit?~
Vision's eyes narrow," Like you don't know."
Paradox blinks up at her innocently.
Vision rolls her eyes. She can't talk to him when he's like this. Then her eyes widen
as a thought hits her. "Oh DRAT! Alex is going to think I got eaten by a Vampire
or something!!"
Paradox blinks at her. ~ A Vampire?~
Vision rushes to the coat rack, grabs her jacket and runs out the door. "I'll
explain later!" She shouts back at him as she leaves the loft apartment.
Paradox bounds after her, worried enough to risk being seem ~ Where are you going?!~
He just barely catches the reply. To find Alex!
Paradox blinks after her. Then flips open a window and lanches into the sky to
follow her from the air. If there was Vampires around, he didn't want Jen out there
alone.
Vision meanwhile digs the flower out of her pocket and is following it to Genesis.
