Earth-1
Earth-1 was the main location for DC Comics of the Silver Age, i.e., the Earth that most people who read comics from 1960-1985 usually think of.

Historical Trends

Earth-1 was marked by the vast number of active super-heroes, and their wide acceptance by the public and authorities. This acceptance may be the reason for the multitude of known super-humans, as they are more willing to "go public" than super-humans on other, more repressive Earths.
The major Earth-1 super-hero organization is the Justice League of America, founded in 1959 and active until the Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985. Other groups of note include the Teen Titans, the Outsiders, and the Doom Patrol. The New Gods also visited Earth-1 for the occasional battle, and the original Legion of Super-Heroes were from the 30th century of Earth-1.

Renegade Oan Krona conducts forbidden experiments, and unleashes evil upon the universe. In response, the Guardians of the Universe is formed.
600 A.D.
Merlin fuses the spirit of the demon Etrigan with that of Peter Blood.
1916 A.D.
Hans von Hammer, the Enemy Ace, flies the deadly skies over Europe.
1939 A.D.
The first public appearance of Steel, the Indestuctible Man.
1941 A.D.
The first public appearance of the Vigilante.
1942 A.D.
The first public case of the Guardian, TNT & Dan the Dyna-Mite. Sgt. Rock fights in the European Theater of Operations.
1948 A.D.
Krypton explodes; Kal-El's rocket lands in Kansas.
1950 A.D.
J'onn J'onzz is accidentally stranded on Earth.
1953 A.D.
The first public appearance of Captain Comet.
1960 A.D.
First public appearance of Superboy.
1968 A.D.
First public appearance of Batman.
1969 A.D.
First public cases of Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Adam Strange is transported to the planet Rann for the first time.
1970 A.D.
First public cases of Flash, Robin, Green Arrow and Speedy, and Metamorpho.
1971 A.D.
The first public cases of Green Lantern, Kid Flash, and Aqualad. The Justice League of America is formed.
1972 A.D.
First public cases of the Atom and Elongated Man. Katar and Shayera Hol arrive on Earth. Zatanna begins her quest to rescue her father.
1973 A.D.
The first public cases of the Creeper, Deadman, and Batgirl. Darkseid extends his conflict with the New Gods to Earth. The Demon Etrigan reappears.
1974 A.D.
The clone of Paul Kirk (Manhunter) rebels from the Council.
1976 A.D.
Darkseid forms the Secret Society of Super-Villains. The Freedom Fighters relocate from Earth-X.
1978 A.D.
First public cases of Firestorm and Airwave II. The Teen Titans break up.
1980 A.D.
The Teen Titans reform.
1983 A.D.
Aquaman recruits several new members, and forms the "new" Justice League. Batman forms the Outsiders.
