Can I apply more than once?
Yes, but you can only have one number per site. If you have more than one Collie related site, and you want them on the ring, you will need separate numbers for each.
Will applying more than once make me get on the ring faster?
No. It will not. And your number must match the page number given.
If I change my address do I have to reapply to the Collie Ring?
No. You can update your information by going to Webring and go into ring members. If you cannot, you can e-mail us with your number and new location and we will update the ring information for you.
If I get out of Collies, or delete my Collie content from my site, can I
stay on the Collie Ring?
No. If you you change to a non-Collie site, please remove yourself from
the Ring.
Can I just copy the code off of another person's site?
No. you must apply to the Collie ring and have your OWN number generated.
Does my site have to be added manaully by the Ring Master.
No. If you have the proper code on your page, and the page you have listed as your start page is the where the code is, the Ring checker will automatically add you when it checks the ring. However, if your content is not suitable, the Ringmaster reserves the right to remove you from the Collie Ring.
Does my kennel have to be licensed to be on the Collie Ring?
No. The Collie Ring makes no guarantee that the kennel listed is a "reputable" breeder. What to one is a puppy mill, to another is "an active breeding kennel." The Ringmaster reserves the right to exclude sites that are obviously puppy mills in her opinion. And please, do not bother making personal complaints about others on the Ring. If you wish to address a non-personal issue that regards Collies - eg) what to look for in a Collie puppy or breeder - go ahead. I'd be glad to add an unbiased "How to buy a Collie site."
An example of the code.
Please do not just copy. It is not complete. You need your personal number and email address in it.

I've added the code, but it still doesn't work.
This could be one of two problems:
1) You haven't been added to the Ring.
2) The code isn't really added. Remember to hit "save" when you edit
.html files and also "reload" so the editted file is pulled off the SERVER, not from your CACHE.
The code itself shows on the page, but not the navigation table.
Did you copy all of the code? Remember that tags need to be closed
eg)
Beware of missing brackets when you are cutting and pasting.
What is the fastest way to be added to the Collie Ring?
Have your personalized code on your start page, and email the Ringmaster at Elizabeth James when ready.
The Collie Ring made possible by the Webring and New Dream Network. |
