NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS

-The Heat-

When Heero picks up the dropped pen, he is still trembling.  When Heero crushes the pen between his fingers and when the broken pieces of crystals bleed his palm, he is still trembling.  He cannot believe he has forgotten the source of his suffering.  He cannot believe he is side-tracked.   How could he be so careless to lead his koi to this hall and to pass by this door?   How could he underestimate his koi's curiosity, thinking that he would just leave this room alone?

How could he forget this room?  How could he forget his mission?

Heero looks back at the door way, he could not see the long braided boy.

Looks like he will have to carry out his original plan.  Heero has wasted his last chance.  He has hurt him, the only one he has ever.... Heero lightly shakes off the thought.  Focus on the mission, he harshly reminds to himself.

Heero activates the fire alarm before he return his attention to the room.  He slowly looks up at Relena's portrait.

"We both lost, Relena" Heero gives one last faint bitter smile before he kneels next to Relena's bed and retrieve a small black box barely the size of his hand.   "This is to the true peace."  He pushes the orange button on the small black box.

Heero feels being pushed by someone.  But a wave of heat still washes over him.    And then..... he feels nothing afterward.

--The Guard--

"Injustice!"  Wufei growls at the fleeing braided baka who had knocked him down on the ground.  Wufei has begun to wonder if he should continue to be the King's personal guard.  After all, the King and that baka have never given him the respect!  They are always playing this hide-and-seek game with Wufei and the poor personal guard is sick of it.  Today is no different.  He had been searching for both of them this whole morning.

"INJUSTICE!"  Rubbing his injured shoulder, Wufei releases his anger once again.  However, when he heard the loud fire alarm, Wufei gets back on his feet immediately.

He remembers that he did not see the King with that baka.

Wufei runs down the hall, going against people who are trying to exit the Palace.   Where is the King?  He curses.  As much as he does not want to admit, Wufei knows that he regards his King as a friend, and a very good one too.  Something must have happened and now this endless piercing alarm is getting on Wufei's nerves.

Finally Wufei finds his object after 10 minutes of searching, but he does not have the time to even ask anything.  All Wufei remembers is that his body was flying in the air and his hands were pushing his King through the big glassy window.

But he is still too late.  The explosion comes and knocks both of them into oblivion.
